OT: West Virginia vs. South Florida

Big East action tonight at 8 PM.

It's either this or Kentucky vs. St. John's  in hoops, if my digital cable is any indication. Pick a game. Discuss.

....that it is a challenge for your defense  to find the football.

4th and short for WV,  on the other hand. Apparently, 4th and short encapsulates their season,  if you ask ESPN.

Both teams have had their return and kicking teams out their longer than the offense and defense. I don't know if the  path to bowl eligibility really should involve this much punting in the non-AQ world.

Normally I watch the Thursday games, but damn this one is boring, plus I have a feeling WVU is at some point going to break out and score about four TDs in a row while SF won't.

I think I'm going to turn the XBOX back on.

1) You need to get an XBOX, as it's an incredible piece of technology

2) I'm done shooting mother F'ers and turned this game on and was very surprised. Turned it one right when SF is about to score a TD.

Casteel had to bring a lot of new guys along this year on his defense.  The WVU d has really progressed this year, like they do every year.  Does USF have an offensive TD tonight?

A couple are, such as illegal substitution to see if too many players were on the field.  Remember when Tennessee beat LSU with a goal line stand on the last play of the game but was reviewed for 12 men on the field?  Gave LSU another shot and they won the game because of it.

The worst penalty was on Ryne Giddens, a player from local powerhouse Armwood, right down I-75 from USF.  He was a "victory" for USF in recruiting because he chose them over Florida.  He really blew the game for USF.  I agree that it is on Skip Holtz.

I wonder how the USF administration feels about their hatchet job on Jim Leavitt now?

Leavitt did a terrific job building the USF program...however, he had the same issues that Skip has, start off strong...then disappear. If Skip can't get a full year effort next year, its time to start shopping for a new coach. I took my 4 year old son (he loves the Bulls) to the Miami@USF game this year and it was the most painful game I have ever had to sit through offensively.

I only watched the 4th quarter, but what a debacle.  A fumble on first down by BJ Daniels when USF was in position to run out the clock for a winning field goal.  Then, on the ensuing WVU last drive, a personal foul (basically after the play) on what would have been a 4th down for WVU, an offsides, and two(!) illegal substitution penalties.

WVU didn't so much march down the field as the ambled down it as a confused USF looked on.  I will give WVU credit for that last play before the FG (a really nice catch), but that was it.

I'm glad I don't have to watch USF football on a regular basis.
