Rivals states Tressel gave OSU a pep talk

I didn't see this posted, but I find this interesting that the Buckeyes are willing to let this guy around the program in the face of sanctions. They should be distancing themselves from the Senator.

What's the authority for the assertion that Tressel was banned, and that his contact with players was a violation?

And yeah, this is the second thread on this topic, and nobody came up with any such authority in the first one.

Says random anonymous internet blog-poster...that's WHO!

Tressel resigned, he was not fired.  OSU, to date, has not suffered any NCAA sanctions for their actions and Tressel is free to come and go as he pleases.  If OSU wanted they could've asked St. Jim to "guest coach" the team yesterday as there is nothing forbidding it other than common sense.

slimmy implications of publicly barring a guy from your program and then ignoring it.

I look at it as another sign of desperation from ohio.  No one on the current staff could give a good speach so they brought in Tressel.  They knew they needed someone who would inspire them.

I also think they purposely leaked the Urban Meyer stuff hoping it would fire up their guys.  They were a desperate team and did desperate things all week and even during the game.  ohio didn't throw the ball that many times or go deep that much all season.
