thanks for the backhanded compliment.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
How many games were we predicted to win?
November 26th, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
I think most pundits had you guys anywhere from 6 on the low end and 9 on the high end with most in the 8-4 range right?
Great year. Great job by Hoke and his staff.

I am torn. I want UM to go to the best bowl they can, BCS type. So that might not happen if MSU beats Wisky. Gotta go with the Badgers. Hell who am I kidding. I want MSU to get their asses handed to them. I not torn, I was was just taking a crap and needed a little more push. Got light headed.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:30 PM ^
whisky out my nose.
To the OP - I commend thee for thy consistent gentlemanliness. It's not lost on us a bit.
But we're coming for your asses next year - can't wait until we feast on your freshman QB. In Ann Arbor. Under The Lights.
Be afraid. Very, very afraid or what awaits you.
And good season to you, too. Didn't think you had the team to go 10-2.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:41 PM ^
Small correction though. We will have a first year starting QB, but he will be a redshirt junior. We expect big things from Andrew Maxwell.
Hope both teams are undefeated when they meet.
November 26th, 2011 at 11:46 PM ^
who will also be breaking in new WR's.
November 27th, 2011 at 12:21 AM ^
I expect Toussaint will get more than 2 carries this time.
November 26th, 2011 at 11:52 PM ^
Winner will be ahead of us in the BCS rankings and the loser will be behind us.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:19 PM ^
Not sure why they are bustin your balls either. I'll admit I want Sparty to lose next week but I still think you are being genuine.
November 27th, 2011 at 12:46 AM ^
RationalMSUfan is far from rational. He pretends to play nice, but his true colors came out before and will come out again....... Back when downvotes meant something, I want to say he lost at least 400 points in one thread.
Take anything he says with a grain of salt.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
I think the predictions ran the gambit from Drew Sharp's "UM will burn in hell b/c they OMG sux" to the occasional Irrational Board Poster/RichRod predicting "OMG 10 WINSS!!!" And yes most were in the 7-8 win range, with a small possiblity at 9. Who knew that Irrational Board Poster and RichRod would have been correct? Certainly not me. It's kind of funny that there is a possibility that the B1G sends two team to the BCS, and they're both from the state of Michigan. Who would have predicted that?

Congrats to you guys too, I guess. I don't personally like your coach at all, but he's done a great job of playing moneyball with the talent that's available to him. Michigan State has lost 2 B1G games in the last 2 years, beating Wisconsin twice. That's pretty crazy.
I for one don't think that it's too backhanded to say that this team has exceeded most people's expectations. 10-2? With wins over Ohio State and Nebraska? I didn't really see that coming before the start of the season.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:45 PM ^
I should probably add that I'm rooting for Wisconsin to do what they did to Penn State and Nebraska to you in the B1G championship game. Should be an interesting rematch.

I hope Wisconsin beats you by four touchdowns.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:05 PM ^
And good luck to y'all next week! Show em what the Northwest division is made of!
November 26th, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
Thanks........... Hope you lose next week.

Take it back to the RCMB.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:19 PM ^
Is that Keanu Reeves?
November 26th, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
I sincerely hope Bucky The Badger punches Sparty in the throat.
EDIT: I am sure you're being genuine - I simply don't (nor could I in good conscience) make it a habit to root for MSU.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
Good luck in the Outback Bowl.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:12 PM ^
thanks RMSUF. you seem like a good guy. you guys had a great year too.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
Figured the board would be in good spirits tonight......guess not.
At the conclusion of a long regular season, I think both state schools should be proud. Nothing wrong with that IMO.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:24 PM ^
I actually love the football in the state of michigan right now! There is an opportunity that both major colleges reach BCS bowls! That is good for the people here, who have struggled so much with the crappy economy, to take their mind off of real life for a little bit.
Wisconsin is a tough team, more so now because of how difficult it is to beat a team twice in the same season, but I kind of hope that things work out for the better.
Both teams had great seasons.

All rational Spartans next year to the Big House, where we hope to test your ability to remain rational.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
I'm glad our season warrants your approval.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:18 PM ^
Not sure why there's so much hate on this thread. Both teams had solid seasons, good luck next week, looking forward to beating you guys next year.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
We honestly love and appreciate the sentiment. It doesn't mean we can actually root for MSU, though.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
Oh no of course not. I'm rooting for Wisconsin too. Saying good luck just make me look like a good guy. Still, I'll take the congratulations.
November 27th, 2011 at 12:42 AM ^
Not about hate... wishing MSU the best of luck next week also, and no one from Wisky perform what Gholston and Marcus Rush did to Denard on Cousins.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:19 PM ^
MSU will get thier ass kicked next week, have fun playing in a shitty bowl game.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:20 PM ^
Op.
As much as i dont like MSU...its still not a bad thing to have 2 really good major college football teams in the state.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
And I mean that sincerely. I really do appreciate the kind words and sentiment. It's a nice thing you didn't have to do. On another day, perhaps we could go out for beers.
But because you represent MSU and have another game: I hope Wisconsin explores your program's collective rear end with a bulldozer.
No hard feelings!
November 26th, 2011 at 10:25 PM ^
Congrats to the Spartans as well on your season and win over Northwestern. My oldest daughter, an MSU grad, was hoping for a Penn State win today. She did not want the Spartans to have to face the Badgers again, and I don't blame her. That's going to be a tough rematch.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:27 PM ^
Thanks! I hope wisconsin beats the piss out of state next week.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:43 PM ^
The man congratulates us on a victory and you have to slap him down.

Fans like you we don't need.
November 26th, 2011 at 10:53 PM ^
Yeah, man, a lot of the people on this board are being asshats to this guy. Come on, board, it's just Michigan State. Getting back to being Michigan again means reserving this vitriol for Ohio.
November 26th, 2011 at 11:42 PM ^
...I'm wondering if you'd be doing this if your team wasn't division champs and hadn't beaten M.
And I'm not returning the compliment since your team and its fans are generally a bunch of classless punks. Even Kirk Cousins runs off the field with his four fingers raised in the faces of the opponent. How many M senior classes pulled off the feat of never losing to MSU, yet never said squat?
Hope your team gets embarrassed on national TV next week. kthxbai
November 26th, 2011 at 11:45 PM ^
most of us appreciate your level-headednesson this board. You are a rare individual and dare I say, you probably could have been a Michigan Man.
As you know, most of us do not like lil bro. Not because of any rivalry but because of the inferiority complex. However, you good sir, do not seem to have that.
Good luck to you next week although I will be rooting for Wisky because a MSU loss will jump us over you. That ought to get the Red Cedar Bowel Movement (RCMB) abuzz.
We need to jump up one space and need GA and MSU to lose.
November 26th, 2011 at 11:55 PM ^
Go away.
