If they don't want to be called "Ohio," why do none of their cheers, songs, or marching band formations ever contain the word "State" in them?  It's always just "Ohio".

I guess he tweeted saying he lost respect and the players were classless for the actions after the game.
<br>Wow, I guess having your brother trash Michigan when he left wasn't classless?

Probably is pretty mild in comparison to the "Angry drunk" versions of this that will appear in the wee hours. I can't wait for Buckeye schadenfreude myself. It should provide days of endless amusement.

My favorite Buckeyes are the ones who:

1. Still worship Tress despite the storm he sailed their ship right in to due to his horrible judgement

2. Puff themselves up with "We will always win no matter what" then throw up excuse after excuse for a loss

3. Resort to 1, perhaps 2 (if cursing aided by a hyphen) syllable words to express their love/hate of a player/coach/game

4. I actually had a OSU grad cold call email me, then call and call and call, for a job. With a 2.7 GPA. I said "son, you need to get a Masters to offset your undergrad grades and if I were you, learn Mandarin or Portugese as Chin and Brazil will be incredibly important.".... He STILL came back with "uh, so you have no positions open?" Finally I said "With a 2.7 GPA, you wouldn't qualify as a receptionist." I had to be honest.

Including this magnificent gem brought up on this board a few months back.  I have a hard time believing an Ohio grad could make words dance like this.   Still, let's give credit where credit is due. The best part is it drips with irrational manic fear of what Hoke has going at Michigan.

What I'm saying is, Brady Hoke is, from a cultural standpoint, the perfect guy to coach the Michigan Wolverines football team. He is a pompous toad who squats upon the lilypad of elitism. Everything he has said after opening that gaping maw he calls a mouth has infuriated me to the point of violence, and I am starting to believe that nothing short of Ann Arbor being terrorized by Woody Hayes' rotting corpse would get him to stop talking about how awesome Michigan football is. More than any Michigan coach I can remember, I want to see his jowls shake with shame and sadness after yet another loss to Ohio State. His very existence has made me into a worse person, more vengeful and petty than ever before.

God bless you, Brady Hoke.

On the one hand the fan who wrote the article is a flaming idiot, on the other hand quite a few other fans shot him down, said it's no different than what they do, and gave Hoke credit on not just the win, but the entire turnaround this season and I was pleasantly surprised. In contrast I have roughly a dozen Sparty friends on FB and I saw not a single post from them about MSU, their win over Northwestern, or the upcoming B1G Championship game vs Wisconsin. I did see 4 different posts from them about Michigan, though, all of them on par with the bucknuts article. All 4 posts turned into long discussions of exclusive Michigan bashing. SMH

I sat around several Ohio fans today and the only people who's class could be question were sadly Michigan fans.  Maybe the guy setting next to me uses the OSU fans mothers services but I think he was just being a tool.

Every fanbase has their assholes, Ohio may have more than most but it is what it is.

We had 2 buckeyes sit next to us today and they were very gracious nice people. They went out of their way to say how happy they were Hoke understood the rivalry and what a difference a year has made, they also commented on how good they think our basketball team can be. That said as we were walking out we heard UofM fans yelling at these 2 guys just because they were wearing red, calling them names and giving them hell, morale of the story every fanbase has assholes even a few of ours(only a few).

Hoke is classless?  What a load of shit, not sure how many people know this but the chants and cheers Ohio fans take part in are  1000x worse than calling them Ohio.   I was seating in section 11 row 88 (Ohio section) and the one cheer that really pissed me off is when they would kick off to us they would yell, "Rip his fucking head off!"  Just think that is on a different level than calling them Ohio.  Also the "lyrics" they have created for out fight song were pretty telling.  Also, they bitched everytime i called them Ohio saying i was being disrespectful.  Then they take part in their cheers, hypocritical dumbasses.

I will say i saw some Michigan fans that don't shine us in the brightest light, but for the most part i will say we traeted the Ohio fans with much more respect than they showed us, especially the MMB.

I will say that not all of the Ohio fans were horrible, there was a father and son in front of me and they actually shook my hand and said good luck in our bowl.  They were friendly throughout the game and we took part in light trash talking throughout the game.

Regardless, Go Blue! 40-34.

are obscene and "they", or the majority of their fans in Section 13 knew all the vulgar words. I hadn't heard these colorful modifications before but they took it to a new low. The parent near me probably didn't enjoy his under ten year old daughter hearing those words all day - bur surely enjoyed the final score and their quiet Buckeye tears afterward.

Was an asshole to some Ohio state fans today, all in the name of football. It wasn't worth it, and I wish I would have let our young men in maize and blue do all the talking.

Eh, it's a couple of OSU "fans" whining about their team losing to UM and lashing out at Hoke.  Most of them admitted that it was not different than scUM and TTUN (which is bit of a stretch, but whatever).  This should be a fun rivalry.  And I know they are all excited about the prospect of Meyer coming to Columbus and blowing the doors off UM again, but his resume (outside of the BCS titles) looks like a guy who might struggle early on at OSU as he installs his program and gets the right coaches, and I'm not sure Columbus is any more forgiving than A2 for a couple of down years.  I mean, Fickell was basically fired as soon as they lost to Miami.

Should be an interesting couple of years.

There was a recent thread or maybe a diary about Hoke pictures of him pointing in all possible imaginable ways. I can't find it via search - anyone willing to post it again.

I was surprised at how many on Bucknuts gave Hoke credit. Then again, it's easy to be cordial when you still have beat Michigan for nine of the last ten years. But that shall change soon.

As a general rule, I never understand these arguments about "classiness" made by any fanbase (including UM).  It's F-ing football, and college football at that.  It's a game played by teens and early 20-somethings and consumed by herds of (mostly) older men and women for entertainment.  Unless Braxton Miller, Tom Gholston, or Mike Martin rips the head off a chicken, defecates on a cheerleader, and then flips off school staff members during the game, I don't really care about the "classless" moniker being attached to a couple of name-callings and taunts.  There are bigger deals to get worked up about in this world.

you were expecting from the Ohio State boards.  In fact, not sure what you were doing on the OSU boards.  How about you just enjoy the victory and not worry so much about what irrational Buckeye fan is taslking about?

"It's been pointed out that they just beat the worst OSU team in 10-12 years..."

Hmmm... I think I heard once before that that doesn't matter in this game. Now where did I hear it?

That guy is right, we should give them the respect they deserve as a hallowed and dignified institution.  I propose switching to Wojo's nomenclature and calling them The Ohio from now on, instead.

He's fat. That seems to be the base of their complaints. Never mind that Tressel decimated his own program, and they still worship him. Now that I know that the term 'Ohio' annoys them so, I think we should continue the trend of never calling them Ohio State. It was asking the buckeye student fans how it felt to visit a University they could never get accepted to...

Literally, who are they to call hoke classless? This is the same fanbase i witnessed a buckfuck spit on a old lady wearing M gear walking to the toilet bowl for the 2006 game. that is classless, it is what it is though, this rivalry is about to heat the hell up again that we won. This is how it's supposed to be, and game on. It'll be fun to watch out at Albert eat their next coach!
