Video Of All Varieties: Nebraska 2011
This:
Parkinggod highlights:
The MGoBlue highlights use that frustratingly close camera angle but here they are:
Wolverine Historian has a longer reel if that's your jam. It's not as high quality as the others.
Nyancat:
This really should have been the entire halftime show. 20 minutes of Nyancat. I also think they should replace Seven Nation Army with Nyancat. It would have the same effect on the offense that Iowa's pink locker room does.
Mattison's… interesting gesture:
If you want to know what the hell I was talking about on the twitters, the entire MMB halftime show was captured. It has not gotten good reviews, but at least they're trying to entertain. Also their pregame routine was captured.
More after the jump.
Fitz runs right at you for six:
Postgame tunnel:
Both of those via UMGoBlue.
Postgame interviews:
Card stunt:
(I imagine stunt men are livid that "holding up a colored card" is now classified as a stunt.)
Flyover:
Aaaand do this:

Mattison = sexiest coordinator ever!! Grabbing his nipples and shaking them like dogs would takes his sex appeal to the next level.
I saw that live and went WTF? I guess I wasn't the only one.
November 20th, 2011 at 6:56 PM ^
Wait, that was the best halftime show in the history of halftime shows this year. I loved it.
November 20th, 2011 at 6:58 PM ^
I hate to be negative about it, but honestly, that halftime show was cringeworthy. Give 'em credit for trying something new, but... Swing and a miss.
November 20th, 2011 at 7:22 PM ^
Why do you say that?
November 20th, 2011 at 11:22 PM ^
I'd like to be excused from any more of this type of avante guard display in the future. The standard halftime show is more than enough entertainment.

I don't come to mi football to listen to opera and 60's pop music. More YouTube please. Next they need to play Friday, the Rent is too damn high, Piano cat, more Charlie the unicorn, and Weezer's pork and beans.

I agree to an extent, but the good moments outweighed the bad. The good, of course, including all of Carl's lines. "HEY! HE DOESN'T LIKE GEORGE MICHAEL!" "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!?!?!"
November 21st, 2011 at 12:18 AM ^
Whatever. It was one of my favorite shows of the past couple years.
November 20th, 2011 at 7:02 PM ^
Well, well, well, well, well, tremendous, well, well, well. LOL!

And I'm not sure if it's completely ridiculous that I would, in all certainty, watch that 15-minute version over and over again.

I sat with a former OSU bandmember at the Nebraska game. She likes our band; she's always amazed at how we sound, with woodwinds. "Like Broadway," she thinks, "or a symphonic band." And both of us were astonished at how disjointed and awkward the show was. Her complaint was technical -- "See how everybody is looking at the video board? They should be looking at the band... they worked hours and hours to get their movements as precise as they are... And nobody's watching them..."
I suppose that somebody had the inspirational idea to topically play off the existence of the new video boards, which failed almost up to the moment of truth for the halftime show. You sort of wonder -- would the Marching Band show have been possibly better, if the scoreboards had continued to fail through halftime?
November 20th, 2011 at 7:52 PM ^
LOL that was hilarious. But I still think Hoke needs to add "intensity" to his repertoire to have Lloyd down pat.

During the Carr ceremony they described him as the "second-winningest coach in Michigan history." Isn't he third in wins, behind Bo and Yost?
Also: is that video of the postgame tunnel walk, or the halftime walk? Looking at the crowd (and the fact our guys went in the tunnel right after Nebraska's did, rather than go to the student section) suggests halftime.
November 20th, 2011 at 7:48 PM ^
Based on how few people are in the stands, my guess would actually be following pregame warmups.
November 20th, 2011 at 9:10 PM ^
Its actually post game, post victors by student section. You can see a lot of players throwing gloves and wristbands into the crowd.
November 20th, 2011 at 7:45 PM ^
Congratulations to all who attended for being a part of the largest crowd watching Nyan Cat anywhere in America that day!
November 20th, 2011 at 7:47 PM ^
My only gripe with the halftime show is that Rebecca Black's Friday didn't make it. THAT'S MY JAM! /s
November 21st, 2011 at 7:48 AM ^
Barring /s, they actually tried and couldn't get the rights.

yup that's our defense.
November 20th, 2011 at 8:20 PM ^
Tremendous!!
November 20th, 2011 at 8:50 PM ^
Jake Ryan is a beast! It is also great to see how the defense is swarming to the ball. Glad the announcers pointed that out.
November 20th, 2011 at 9:13 PM ^
thank you for for adding "target=_blank" on your s
November 20th, 2011 at 9:40 PM ^
Watch it again and keep an eye out for Odoms. He's so ADORABLY TINY!
November 20th, 2011 at 9:53 PM ^
Anyone else notice that Nebraska was running a fake punt when it was blocked. Explains why the punter muffed it. He had a receiver wide open.
November 20th, 2011 at 10:00 PM ^
That's something I really wish our cheerleaders would do.
WE WILL FIGHT, WE WILL WIN
SHAKE YOUR TITS FOR MICHIGAN!!

Hoke can sound like Carr in interviews all he wants as long and I'll still love him just as long as he never emulates LC's game theory, penchant for making enemies and highly conditional loyalty to the program.
November 20th, 2011 at 11:15 PM ^
used is the same play when Martin played a LB position and absolutely crushed the RB trying to block him when he came on a blitz.
November 21st, 2011 at 12:25 AM ^
During that you can hear 70,000 simultaneous WTFs, but not the initials (old people).

Don't worry, they will roll out "salute to Scott Joplin" for Ohio.
November 21st, 2011 at 9:46 AM ^
but I love you for the Scott Joplin reference, because it is true. I thought the (video of) the show was great and think the band should be encouraged to be timely and have fun. If the stadium is going to play piped in music all the time, why not have the band have fun with it?
November 21st, 2011 at 1:36 PM ^
I guess you young whippersnappers would prefer a halftime "band" show that is played out entirely on the scoreboard? The show Saturday came fairly close to that "ideal." Wouldn't it have been ironic if this "tech savvy" show had to go forward in a power outage? And, since you're hating on Scott Joplin, maybe it's time to phase out "The Victors" while we're at it -- that song is, like, over a hundred years old!
I've gotta go with Bando on this one -- "A" for effort, but "F" for execution.

Tackle In = TITS stunt
Usually loops a backer for edge support. Pretty sure that's the fire they ran in this play.
November 21st, 2011 at 10:23 AM ^
I think Mattison was calling in the "stop playing like a girl" scheme by juggling his boobies.
November 21st, 2011 at 10:31 AM ^
Was Drob's pass TD pass to Odoms one of his best throws ever? Deep throw at least, he looked very good in this game minus the WTF INT on the screen.
November 21st, 2011 at 10:52 AM ^
Don't know what to make of the halftime show. Me am confused on my feelings.
