A plea to season ticket holders
I realize many of you are older (and therefore probably will not see this) and decide to give away your tickets because the late-season weather is harsh, but I make this plea to all season ticket holders. PLEASE don't sell your tickets on stubhub or some other web-based ticket broker. The last thing any of us want or need is your Michigan Stadium tickets being purchsed by Buckeye fans who will, if given the chance, populate our stadium with a revolting show of red. (See two years ago... hell, even one glance around the stadium yesterday illustrates my point)
All I ask, plead and beg of you is that if you are unable to go and you have tickets to give away, JUST FIND ANOTHER MICHIGAN FAN and let them go instead of the on-line stranger who will almost certainly be a Buckeye.
I live in Ohio and I hear Buckeye fans talk about taking over Michigan stadium like they did in '09. I realize a lot of people gave away '09 tickets, in part, due to their unwillingness to sit through the certain sadness to follow, but no self-respecting Michigan fan should ever give their ticket to a Buckeye.
If you are reading this, spread the word. Unwanted tickets should only go to MICHIGAN men "fergodsakes"!!! Keep the scarlet out of the Big House!!! Let's create the homefield advantage our guys deserve and turn this series back on a dime in the right direction!
GO BLUE !!!!!

Thank you for posting this. You represent all Michigan fans. Please don't sell tickets to Ohio
November 20th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
It just makes us look stupid that people even have to post this. If someone wants to make a profit, they're going to.
November 20th, 2011 at 5:41 PM ^
So I take it you'd be willing to shoot someone for the right price?
November 20th, 2011 at 1:22 PM ^
amen brother... i know some michigan fans who'd buy tickets... i'll send em ur way
November 20th, 2011 at 5:00 PM ^
I am looking for two tickets to the um game next week. Bringing my son from Wisconsin and we are huge Michigan fans.

Looking for cheap tickets. Please email me at [email protected].
Thanks

Many people are going home to see their family for the first time since school started and cannot make it back. Support Michigan, support the students, and go to THE GAME. Buy the tickets so Akron State Golden Bobcats' fans cannot.
November 20th, 2011 at 7:17 PM ^
that their family will be there forever and they only get two OSU games as an undergrad...
November 20th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
Students need to be sure their friends aren't selling online. I'm pretty worried with the Thanksgiving holiday. A lot of out of state students are selling tickets. You can get them for shockingly cheap for a Mich-OSU game.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:40 PM ^
but the market among students is flooded so the prices are insanely low. I'm talking face value of student tickets ($30) and the majority of them going for $50 or less. The prices on the FB pages and throughout campus are way lower than they should be, so I know many people who are hitting the web (Craigs List, stubhub, etc...) with their tickets.

Students could make a decent return using the internets @ MGoBlog.com

November 20th, 2011 at 1:24 PM ^
Agreed, keep those assholes out of our stadium!!!
November 20th, 2011 at 1:25 PM ^
Since this is an appropriate thread to ask in.. I'm looking for tickets for the OSU game. Lifelong michigan fan hoping to see my first Michigan/OSU game ever. Anyone with extra tickets let me know what you want and I'll see how deep I can reach into my pockets.
Thanks!
November 20th, 2011 at 1:42 PM ^
I have 2 extra tickets to the game. Email me at [email protected]. Or check out the ticket spreadsheet listed under the MGoBoard heading at the top of the page. Good luck and Go Blue, Beat Ohio!
November 20th, 2011 at 1:27 PM ^
I'm sorry but why in the HELL would anybody sell these tickets in the first place? I kinda understand 2009 (although I was there) but selling this year makes zero sense to me at all.
We've lost to these idiots for what seems like forever. I, for one, wouldnt miss the end of the streak for all the money in the world.
Well maybe for all the money in the world I might miss it. But not if it was a Buckeye fan offering it!
November 20th, 2011 at 3:05 PM ^
Can we stop assuming that we are going to end the streak? OSU isn't going to roll over easily, and they're team really isn't bad.
November 20th, 2011 at 5:14 PM ^
The coaching staff watches film, sees what plays work, and delete them from the play book.
November 20th, 2011 at 5:47 PM ^
Some of us are from out of state, unfortunately- my grandparents live in Atlanta and we are all doing one last Thanksgiving there. At that point I think family has to take priority. As for the students, they want to spend as much time home as they can- if they can't be bothered to show up on time (which as a student I always showed up on time) why would they be bothered to cut their vacation short?
November 20th, 2011 at 1:30 PM ^
I agree, I unfortunately think you are preaching to the choir. Most people here are pretty dedicated and are going to show up to this game.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:31 PM ^
break, so almost all the out of state students will sell, and a fair amount of instate students who are lukewarm to football will sell as well.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:34 PM ^
I agree with the sentiment of this post but what Michigan fan in their right mind would sell their tickets to this game? And conversely, after the lousy season Ohio has had, I wouldn't think many of their fans would want to come up and watch their beloved team be thoroughly emasculated at the Big House.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:36 PM ^
I'm not one of them, but people would rather go home to see family than football. It wouldn't matter if it was Jerry Sandusky or Jim Tressel buying the tickets, if they're willing to pay the most, they'll get them.
People forget that the posters on MGoBlog don't make up a majority of the fan base. Many around here would chose The Game over a family wedding, funeral, and probably even the birth of a child.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:41 PM ^
I would also think, that on the flip-side, there are a lot of non-season ticket holders, whether they be alumni or not, returning to the area that would love to see this game. Michigan fans should be the more excited group, no reason that we shouldn't buy a lot more tickets than OSU fans.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:44 PM ^
Then find a Michigan fan to sell/give the ticket to. It is pretty easy to do. If people can't do that then they loose the privilege of having tickets. I get that you likely agree, but the holiday is no excuse to sell to a buckeye. A Michigan ticket is not a business transaction for one to maximize value (despite what Brandon seems to think).
November 20th, 2011 at 7:19 PM ^
You hit the nail on the head with that last line. I always wondered how it was acceptable to show up to the stadium at 12:00 for a noon kickoff...
November 20th, 2011 at 1:35 PM ^
I'm not sure there will be as much OSU interest in buying tickets to this game. With scandal and the losses adding up, I can't see a ton of their fans buying up tickets.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:35 PM ^
found this a a few months back - represents the feeling of this message thread!

I bought one of my friends tickets just so it wouldn't fall into wrong hands....
Also- I hate the color red especially because it pops out so much in the crowd. It always looks like there's more than there is. We'll have a great showing this week though.... there's a different feeling in the air than there has been in a long itme.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:38 PM ^
Your intentions are good, but you are way too late with this. It's already done. A lot of the students will go home and a lot of season ticket holders are out of town. The Buckeyes will follow their team here.
Although, when the Wolverines proceed to kick the buckeye's ass this saturday, feel free to scold and run your mouth to the ohio state fans around you. You can take the so-called higher road but a) it's fun and it's been a long time and b) had the tables been turned, you know how this would go down.
November 20th, 2011 at 7:23 PM ^
High road always. This is what makes us different from them.
November 20th, 2011 at 8:39 PM ^
It's what makes "scUM" sound sooo stupid
November 20th, 2011 at 1:40 PM ^
This should be stickied for the entire week.

I was at yesterday's game and, given Nebraska's reputation for taking over opposing stadiums, I didn't think they had any more fans at the game than a typical B1G team. They had the customary sections in the south end zone, but I was really expecting to see a lot more of them than I did. I thought we did a good job of keeping their presence in check, and I'm sure that will continue on Sat.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:43 PM ^
I also think Red is simply an extremely easy color to pick out of the crowd. Even when Nebraska isn't taking over stadiums, it's easy to point out fans in almost every shot.
November 20th, 2011 at 4:00 PM ^
I am one of the people who helped put some red in the stands yesterday. I won't feel overly guilty because it was their first time, and I was super proud to show my family what the Big House is all about.

But I don't have any family from Ohio and if I did, screw 'em. Lol

Not so incidentally they want me to work on tickets to NU-MSU next year and are apparently willing to make the 28-hour round trip again. I feel no guilt putting red in MSU's stands.
November 20th, 2011 at 6:12 PM ^
My experience with Nebraska fans is that I'll always be happy to welcome them to the big house. Passionate respectful fun opponents are a welcome guest even when we aren't dismantling their team.
November 20th, 2011 at 6:53 PM ^
I've never had problems with Indiana or Minnesota fans; then again, look at their teams.
With that said, Nebraska fans have been the best fans, with a good team, that I have come across.
November 20th, 2011 at 4:03 PM ^
They had a huge section down low in the north EZ and I saw a lot walking down to their seats in Section 2 (I was in row 51). I would guess they had between 20-25,000 there unless some Michigan fans were in red. I must say I did contribute as I brought family members with me and my father in law played at Nebraska.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:42 PM ^
who sits in season ticket seats at major rivalry games like ND, MSU, and OSU, and that Michigan ticket holders who sell their seats to opposing team fans should have their tickets yanked for a year and sent to the end of the waiting list.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:52 PM ^
As a season ticket holder I agree. In 20 plus years my seats have never ended up in enemy hands. Those few times I couldn't go, I made sure a Michigan fan picked up the tickets. Sadly, our current AD has gone the opposite way and set a deal with stubb hub that makes it easier for buckeyes to invade the Big House. I guess that must build the brand somehow.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:44 PM ^
I don't know how much normal tickets are going for, but student tickets are selling for around $70-80 right now on places like facebook marketplace, plus a $55 validation fee. So basically $125-135 for a ticket to this game. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
November 20th, 2011 at 2:07 PM ^
stubhub has regular tickets starting at 135 as well
November 20th, 2011 at 1:46 PM ^
The amount of red in the stadium two years ago and those -uckeye fans doing their cheer in our House was a disgrace. We cannot have a repeat of that scene. But Nebraska didn't have a showing anything like that. Ohio will have a lot of fans there, but we do have to try to keep them out. The most disappointing thing to me was seeing red in the student section.
November 20th, 2011 at 1:47 PM ^
market is what the market is, but all things being equal, or close to equal, you can spare a few bucks for your fans.
November 20th, 2011 at 2:00 PM ^
I don't think we will see so many Buckeye fans in AA this year... they all know what is about to happen to them in 6 days.
November 20th, 2011 at 2:06 PM ^
If anyone has either a regular ticket they need to unload for $100, or a non-validated student ticket for $50, let me know. Don't need a pair.

many more UM fans will be looking for tickets. After many years not coming to THE game, a large number of people from my class of 92 is going to the game. There will be many more alumni coming back this year.
November 20th, 2011 at 3:35 PM ^
I would be happy to take any ticket for that game and gladly wear my maze with pride to keep buckeyes out. So if anyone wants to give me one or take me with you.
