Wrist sprain, but he'll be fine.
November 15th, 2011 at 4:34 PM ^
I don't think anyone will notice.
November 15th, 2011 at 1:59 PM ^
He's fine. Minor wrist sprain. Could have re-entered against Illinois. Sorry, I'm too lazy to look up a link but it's been all over the internet (including here)
November 15th, 2011 at 2:00 PM ^
I heard he's redshirting.
November 15th, 2011 at 2:32 PM ^
We won't know that until his senior year. (Sarcasm) Is Devin redshirting? We should start a thread on this!

RR is redshirting.

"Is Denard going to be limited this week? 'No. He threw the ball very well last night. He’s fine, he just had a little sprain on his wrist. He’s in good shape.'"
November 15th, 2011 at 4:36 PM ^
but has Denard's little wrist sprain been classified as a boo-boo by Hoke? Basically anything short of death is a boo-boo....gawwwd I love this coach!
EDIT: I see it has been reported by Humen that it is, indeed, as a boo-boo!
November 15th, 2011 at 2:03 PM ^
My least favorite thing about this staff is how they release injury information. I take anything Hoke says with a grain of salt. Some guys are day-to-day for weeks, Kovacs disappears with no word all week. The only thing we can assume is that Denard will play, but if the wrist IS bothering him, I don't think we'll hear about it.
November 15th, 2011 at 2:17 PM ^
Why does this bother you? I think it's stupid to give other coaches any more information about our team.
November 15th, 2011 at 2:24 PM ^
Au contraire mon ami, this makes the staff even better im my opinion. Why release injury information about your players? To let your opponent know where he is tender?
O.T.
I loved Scotty Bowman's injury reports. Those were gold nuggets. I rememeber Bowman coming out and saying that Shanahan had a arm/wrist issue. Next thing you know, Shanahan comes out of the locker room wearing a cast on his left leg.

It's the right thing to do! Screw Vegas. This is Belichickian!
November 15th, 2011 at 2:06 PM ^
What the staff says is basically meaninless, they will only admit to something that is public knowledge, so even if Denard say broke his hand last week we won't know till saturday before the game if it was up to then
November 15th, 2011 at 2:09 PM ^
I happen to know someone very close to Denard on the team. They've told me privately that his injury is a little boo boo.
November 15th, 2011 at 2:19 PM ^
I thought Boo Boo was banished to prison.

You're thinking of Angry Michigan Secondary-Hating God.

no I'm pretty sure he was thinking of BooBoo

And do I really have to make the first "Rich Rod predicted Prison Abs" joke?

Isn't he helping Yogi steal picnic baskets? GO BLUE!

No, he's still making sweet music over at Black & Tan Blues

While its true that Hoke's injury info is rearely reliable, I doubt he would say Denard is fine if that is not the truth.
First off, I understand why he may underplay the seriousness of the injury SLIGHTLY. Afterall, he doesn't want Nebraska to know if Denard's wrist is one hit away from knocking him out of the game.
At the same time, however, I don't think he'd say everything is fine if Denard has a broken wrist and no chance of playing. To me, that could lead to all kinds of questions after the game about Denard's toughness and willingness to play through pain. It could also raise questions about a possible QB controversy.
I really doubt Hoke would take that chance, seeing how he has defended Denard at every turn this season.
So in summary, I think that Hoke is being truthful when he says that the injury is relatively minor and that Denard will play. Is it sore? No doubt. Is Denard 100%? Nope. But he will play, and he will probably be his usual self (for better or worse).

To prepare differently. Denard and Devin have two very different play styles and the opposing team has to spend time preparing for both if they want to be safe. If Brady plays the offense is going to be pass-centered, the opposite if he's not playing. The other team has to prepare for both possibilities.

Annoying as shit poster update?
November 15th, 2011 at 4:25 PM ^
was to his ego. It was pulled because he was not taking care of the ball. Hoke and staff knew that based on how well the defense was playing the only way they would lose is if DR did not take care of the ball. The last pass was as bad a throw he has made all year. A sure interception but for the incompetence of the Ill. player.
November 15th, 2011 at 5:39 PM ^
Because Gardner is great at protecting the ball...
November 15th, 2011 at 5:51 PM ^
The fort is back, and Denard has a boo-boo. That is all any of us need to know. And I am happy Hoke is doing it that way.

Just a minor flux in Dilithuim levels.
