OT: Pac-12 Unveils Champ Trophy; Fans of Yonic Sculpture Rejoice

Submitted by Hardware Sushi on

As was posted on the board below, the Big Ten removed Joe Paterno's name from the Big Ten championship trophy today.

In other league championship trophy news, the Pac-12 continued to be the Pac-12 and got all abstract and futuristic with their new trophy. Fortunately for fans of yonic symbols and sculpture, the artist took inspiration from the object that inspires men to race cars, build bridges, fight wars:

I wish I were an artist so I could make profound and deep statements about my sculpture when inside I know I just made the same thing a 15-year old boy would make if commissioned to design the trophy.

Tell me that football isn't suspiciously placed. Larry Scott even took marketing to the next level by branding the bean. Have you no shame, Larry?

It reminds me of the Rose Bowl trophy that was used in 1998:

I don't know when, but at some point the Rose Bowl changed it's trophy to a much more boring one that's basically the Lombardi trophy with a circular base.

when I look at this trophy I see 3 things and I think 3 things: Pac12, Vagina, and Football. Maybe I've used too many "That's what she said" jokes in my lifetime but I really can't help butdraw any other conclusions from this trophy. Like back when the Versus channel slogan was "Show me your V."

Although the designer first said that he got inspiration from the referee's signal of hands raised in the air when someone has scored a touchdown, he later said that he also might've gotten suggestion for the design when he recalled his honeymoon with his "trophy wife."

the shiniest carrot sticks I have ever seen.

Actually, the creative in me has no problem with it. But the B1G snob in me thinks it sucks West Coast style.

I would have expected that admitting to watching a show as awful as Everybody Loves Raymond through the sixth season would be met with universal derision and mockery.

As for the trophy, I tell ya', it ain't half bad.

Maude Lebowski: Does the female form make you uncomfortable, Mr. Lebowski?
The Dude: Uh, is that what this is a picture of?
Maude Lebowski: In a sense, yes. My art has been commended as being strongly vaginal which bothers some men. The word itself makes some men uncomfortable. Vagina.
The Dude: Oh yeah?
