The on-court girl for this broadcast should probably look into another career. Her voice is just too obnoxious.

Since halftime we've started to look more like a top 25 team.  The D has been there all night, but the offense and rebounding didn't make an appearance until the second half.

And it's official...59-33, First Game, First Win!!!   Hardaway is still pressing a bit but Douglass carried us tonight.

I'll take it, but we definitely still need some rhythm on offense, but the D should keep us in a lot of games

We caused nearly twice as many turnovers than Ferris State.  Defense looks great.  The offense finally settled in halfway through the second half.  Looks like it was just first game jitters.  4 for 8 freethrows-- we're going to want that improved.  Don't want a repeat of last years Wisconsin game.

Overall solid win, but lot of improvement needed.

sorry I don't know a lot about basketball, i was looking at the box score on yahoo sports and it has burke's stat line as 1-7 fg 0-4 3-pt 0 asst and douglass at 5-9 3-6 and 4 plus 4 reb.  so why is everyone saying burke looked good out there and he is a better option than douglass?  I didnt watch the game so im guessing he is more athletic and quick?  better decision making?

He was smooth with the ball and got a lot of nice open looks, but they simply didn't fall. It's one thing if he's missing because he's settling for bad jumpers, trying to shoot over defenders, that kind of thing. But if he's getting honestly good looks (drove inside the line a little more often than Stu) but they aren't falling, then that's not really bad. Just unlucky.

The assists I'm wondering about too (also didn't see the game), but it's likely that Stu just had a little more experience feeding Morgan in the post that Burke doesn't have yet, but will develop. He only had one TO, so he wasn't making bad decisions. Just not great plays, yet.

I'm having a hard time reconciling your first and second paragraphs.  If you didn't see the game, how do you know all that stuff in your first paragraph?

More generally, if someone is up for writing a quick summary of who played well, areas for improvement, etc., I'd love to read it.  I didn't catch any of the game.
