We are officially the most white-trash fan-base in the NFL.

Looks like I'm going to have to buy a Nickelback decal for my '93 Camaro - I'll put it next to my Calvin-pissin-on-Bears decal

while i agree that kid rock > nickelback, it's a pretty meaningless comparison to say kid rock is better than possibly the worst band ever. nickelback : 2008 michigan football :: kid rock : 2009 michigan football. both horrible, one is just epically horrible.

I'd argue that Phil Collins is right up there.  His case, though, is much much worse than Nickelback (IMHE) because he demonstrated himself to be arguably the best drummer of the progressive rock era with Gabriel-era Genesis, and an accomplished writer in his own right (hell, he even got a good track on Selling England).  Thus, he had all the brains and ability to make superior forms of music, but deliberately chose to make lowest common denominator shit.  For that I may never forgive him.

At least Nickelback are only living up to their very very low potential, and not consciously choosing to make shit when they could otherwise be great.

I'm going to change the channel during halftime in a blatent effort to lower the ratings of the halftime show. I believe this is the only way to send a message to the networks and record companies that Nickelback's perplexing reign of terror must end.

That and I'll be stuffing appetizers in my mouth and drinking beer.

Man, this is almost as exciting as '07, when I went to the Thanksgiving game and we got..... The GooGoo Dolls.  With all the talent around here, we have to pillage Canada yet again.

If we have to pillage Canada, why are we not getting Bieber?

Who gives a shit?  Does anyone really watch the Thanksgiving Halftime show?  As I said in the Pop Evil thread a while back - it's not like Wilco or Radiohead is gonna show up for the festivities.

If you live outside of the home footprint (such as southeast Wyoming), the thanksgiving day game is maybe the only time you'll get to see the Lions on teevee without an internet stream. So even though they have been awful for the last 8 years, I would always watch.

Now would be an apt time to get an #evacuateFordField hashtag or something trending in Detroit around the time of the game. It could serve to organize a mass exodus to the concourses or bathrooms or what have you.

What would be more vindicating than a completely empty stadium on national television? Besides the obvious...

It's like they're coming back from the dead.  Last time I heard something Nickelback-related, they left the stage less than two full songs into a show in 2006.  Why?  Because the audience was throwing ROCKS at them.

Maybe the octopus tradition can be borrowed from Joe Louis and started at Ford Field...
