Sparty No is and always win be a meme. 1 game and 2 years of success don't take away 21 games over the last 10 years of Sparty No! When the game comes down to a hail-mary it means a few things; either a team choked away a lead, or it was a close game. And MSU almost choked away the game, this win doesn't change it. I'll give them credit, they capitalized on the various mistakes made by Wisky, but this doesn't erase the history of Sparty. And part of that history are various mid-season collapses, which very well could happen.
Just adding to the Sparty mediocrity, on the OU/TT game not once have they mentioned the UW/MSU game on any of the Gamebreaks. Freaking NASCAR is getting more mention than MSU

I forget which play it happened but on sparty's last drive there was a terrible false start that they completely missed by the left tackle. Also, the state wideout that caught the TD pass went out of bounds and came back in...I don't know the exact rule though. The corner jammed him pretty good and may have forced him out...anyone know the exact rule?

I don't think anyone is claiming MSU are world beaters this year, but they do have a decent team. A well played game by them. To be all upset because of that is a very Sparty-like thing to do. Give credit where credit is due.

Crazy game... At the same time, if I hear them bitch about how we were lucky against ND, I will be the first to remind them that it took them 2 interceptions, a blocked field goal, a safety, a blocked punt returned for a touchdown, the leading Wisconsin rusher missing 1/2 the game, the opposing team taking timeouts for them, and a 44 yd hail mary to win the game.
If all of these events occuring in a 60 minute span isn't lucky than I don't know what lucky is.

I don't think we need to congratulate sparty on a win just so we can claim we're not as petty as sparty. The nature of a rivalry is that we don't like them and want them to lose, especially when it benefits us. The fuck sparty and you got all the calls sparty nonsense is even worse though. That IS acting like sparty. Both sides being presented in this thread are stupid in my opinion. But I guess that's what the blog is for.

There's no reason to give Staee credit. They won on a miracle Hail Mary. Sure, they played well enough to put themselves in position to win at the end. But anyone who has watched sports before can tell you that the better team doesn't always win.
If I was a State fan, I'd be ecstatic. But since I'm not, I'll cling to the rationale that they were lucky.

They pulled out the win tonight regardless of the controversial reversal of the touchdown. However, they still have to prove they can win on the road. Going into Lincoln to face Nebraska won't be easy, and I expect Nebraska's defense to step it up a notch!!!!!

Ah yes, the famous "they just won a big game, they must be the best in the Big 10." Wiscy has been destroying teams all year and just lost on a Hail Mary pass on the road. Stuff happens. I still think Wiscy and NU are the top teams in the conference, with MSU third. Beating two teams at home, one with a fluke TD at the end and the other with a whole bunch of rough play and a gift-wrapped INT doesn't strike me as dominant.

dick head coaches in the B1G (probably the nation). I was rooting for a bullet pass to Dantonios face, or a power sweep right at Bret, but neither happened. I hate games like this, where I can't stand either team but I still root for both, when they play OSU. With that being said, I hope Wisky rebounds and kicks the shit out of that school in Ohio next week...

I did get a chuckle out of the students who thought "Free Willy" painted on their chests was a clever idea, though. I wonder how much beer at the frat house it took to come up with that. And if that was their best idea, I can only imagine what some of the others might have been: "our coach is a bigger dick than yours" --no-that would take too many people; "Tear off Wilson's head!" --too obvious. In a close vote, "Free Willy" beat out "Wuck Fisconsin," but only because they couldn't agree on how to spell it.

I don't like Sparty or Wiscy. Year after year, Wiscy plays cream puffs and then wonders why they aren't ranked higher. Sparty is Sparty. They both suck.
Having said that, both teams are very good, but with weaknesses. Wiscy has a lousy secondary an overall average D. Sparty has an undisciplined secondary and a weak O line that was exploited last night.
Regardless, that was a great win for Sparty.
