Michigan Lacrosse Update

It's looking like they're going to have some big hurdles to overcome, but hopefully they can find some faceoff wins develop from one of the guys getting thrown into the fire, and a goalie who sniffs 50%. I think if we can scrape something together there to keep us floating, Yealy might be able to produce some heroics that can steal us a couple extra wins.
My biggest takeaway here is the red lines on the outdoor practice field. Never in a million (18 or so?) years would that have ever even have been considered before the jump to Varsity.

Me, I'm gonna hold off on predictions until I see the schedule. I'd guess sometime in December for that to come out. I don't think they'll have the opportunity to play a full ECAC schedule this year but if they did, I wouldn't honestly expect more than 1-2 conference wins.

It's goanna be a rough start but once recruits see the winged helmets domination will follow.

I miss Tim's lacrosse updates here. Love what he's doing at GreatLaxState, but for awhile there this was my one stop shop for all things Michigan.
The winged helmet isn't going to recruit lacrosse players all by its lonesome. We are competing against schools like Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Hopkins, Notre Dame and the Ivy's for the top blue chips, and some of those schools have lacrosse traditions that are as established as our football tradition. It's gonna take some time. But we'll get there.

Which reminded me to check GLS for the latest since it had been a while, and....whaddya know, a schedule! Posted last night.
Only two schools missing from the full ECAC schedule - no Hobart or Fairfield. I see seven games that go right away into the loss column, two, maybe three that should be expected wins, and four or five that should at minimum be quite competitive. Tim calls it a 3-5 win season and I think that's about right - I'd set the realistic ceiling at six and the bare minimum at two.
