Surprise play by who tomorrow?

Submitted by myantoniobass … on

This thread is predicting who will make an unexpected big play for us tomorrow?  Odoms at WR?  Cam Gordon if he's back?  Devin Gardner?

I'll go with Martavious Odoms with a big TD catch tomorrow.  He's been injured, and the three WRs in front of him have looked good.  Brian noted in the UFR his presence tips run.  But we tipped run the first few games with Jeremy Jackson at WR and whenever Denard audibles by hitting his helmet.

I forsee #9 pulling in a big TD catch.  The senior has healed up and looked quick on those kick returns.

Which of our non-starters to date do you see making a big play tomorrow?

thing with Countess due for a big play. I'll think he'll get some extra PT this week. But you're much more specific calling out the type and time of the pick. I was just saying a big play... sack, fumble, big 4th down stop. I'll be happy if you're right and he returns it for 6!

Maybe not a big surprise but I will say Toussaint breaking a long rush for a touchdown. I say surprising only because of how our rushing was last week, not because of Fitz's speed.

I am predicting a fake field goal or punt today. This coaching staff has the guts to call it and I think tomorrow is a great game to break one out. Im calling Drew Dileo has a great play from the holder position.

Vincent Smith will be the key to victory against MSU. After scoring a touchdown on a direct snap QB power (yes, you read that correctly), Smith will then run in the two point conversion on an option that he pitches to himself. However, those eight points come late in the game. On the very first offensive snap, Vincent Smith will pew pew pew Worthy into the ground with the best rush pickup per weight ratio of all time. Guns still blazing, Smith will dash into the endzone on the next play like only a rabbit chaser could. He will score at least three touchdowns and single-handedly cause a mass couch inferno--while MSU fans sit there in shock. When Hoke points, you become gold. When Smith points, you become Worthless.

I think that our D-Line is gonna have an explosive day tomorrow. I'm hearing all this talk about how MSU's defensive line is gonna rattle D-Rob, but Denard is a great out-of-pocket QB, while cousins is someone who relys on the pocket a lot more than Denard. I think the big story is gonna be Denards broken play ability and the D-lines ability to get to Cousins and make him force the ball in scenarios where guys like Countess can come up big.

I have a good feeling about the game tommorrow, a lot better than the feeling I've had the past couple years.

DG tossing a touchdown pass to Denard out of that dual QB set we've ran the last two weeks. I just have this feeling they been setting it up for this week to really blow Sparty's mind!

With an edge rush strip of the ball deep in Spartan territory.  Whether that sets up the winning score or prevents MSU from driving down the field late in the game.

Tom Pomarico

On our only punt of the game, Tom Pomarico pancakes a defender after the snap, runs down and strips the ball from whoever is returning the punt, and returns it for a touchdown.

But, he starts crip walking into the endzone from 5 yards out, and the ref's call excessive celebration, and we need to take it back to the 5 yard line.

Vincent Smith comes out, guns blazing, halfback pass to who?! TAYLOR LEWAN.  That's right, this play we lined up Lewan at TE.

I'm getting too exciting just thinking about all the possibilities.

Cousins back to throw to a crossing BJ Cunningham.  The former walk-on lays a gut wrenching hit on the WR.

Side note Countess will get an INT.  They will try and pick on him.

I expect this kid to be all over the place tomorrow, not only setting up key blocks on screens and runs, but also leading the receivers in TDs with 2, and having a 100+ yards receiving game. This kid's poised for a breakout game.

For some reason I think it's Odoms...maybe it's just because I want to see him do well but Brian's point about us tipping our runs with him in the game could be a deliberate thing (then again, maybe not). Who knows, but I just have a feeling Odoms comes up big at some point in the game. Another premonition based on nothing, but I think Koger has a big game too.
