True, there's that.  There's also this:

Not that I want to take anything away from Detroit, but, more than anything, this series is proof that the better team doesn’t always win in the playoffs. The Yankees outplayed the Tigers, but Detroit got the benefit of the arbitrary end points. Such is life, I guess.

"Not that I want to take anything away from Detroit, but the Yankees are still better even though they can't hit in the clutch."  It's like I said earlier somewhere: Yankees fans can't accept that some outfit from some rusty flyover town somewhere west of the Hudson could be better than the mighty Yankees.

I did like this one, though:

Speaking of Mo, the greatest reliever of all time threw eight pitches in the series. Eight! David Robertson pitched 2 innings. But at least Girardi didn’t push the bullpen too hard when the Yankees trailed by 2 runs in Game 2. Left them well rested to handle the last three games of the series.

I'm detecting notes of sarcasm.

Thank Vishnu for FSD. I can just about imagine what ESPN's coverage is like.

Dammit all. I told my roommates this, but I didn't post it on MGO. I should have, because I would have looked prophetic.

I said, "Sure, it's a picture of the Tigers celebrating for now, but just wait, by tomorrow morning it will be 'sad A-Rod face' on the front page."

Aaaaaand, sure enough:

Sad A-Rod (It's this picture but from a different angle)

I switch over to ESPN 2 and what do I see?

-A piece on the Yankees losing.

-What will Brian Cashman do?

-A-Rod fails to come up big.

-What do Yankees need to do?

-Who will Yankees pick up in the off-season?

-Will CC opt out?

-Jorge Posada's future?

-Yankees? Yankees! Yankees?

While Valverde is now a VERY impressive 50/50 in saves this season.

Alex Rodriguez, not so impressive, dropped to 3-32 with 10 k's Career vs Tigers in playoffs. He also became the first player in history to strike out to end the year in consecutive post-seasons.
