Video Of All Varieties: Minnesota
Worth a shot, I guess. Parkinggod highlights:
Also in the same vein DonkeyPuncher highlights. Hopefully he's a Lewan fan, not an icky dude.
The Jordan Kovacs feature that the BTN ran:
A shorter BTN highlight reel:
Boyz in the Pahokee also provides the presser.

So many tackles of Fitz have been by the jersey
October 2nd, 2011 at 8:45 PM ^
I was going to say the same thing. Fitz, Shaw, and that sacked turned amazing play by Denard against ND. Aren't these jerseys suppose to be super tight?
October 2nd, 2011 at 11:19 PM ^
Unless they switched the jersey's along with the helmets. I think the complaints early in the season were that the jerseys were too easily ripped and how shitty of a product adidas was giving us. Now the complaint is that they don't rip easily enough. I guess you can't please everyone.

Let 'em rip.

I wonder if Kovacs finds his way into coaching when his playing days are over?
Also, is there any way he ends up playing on Sundays?
October 2nd, 2011 at 8:48 PM ^
No way he plays in the NFL, unfortunately. He is way too slow for safety, and way too small for anything else. He is the epitome of a fantastic college-only player.
October 2nd, 2011 at 8:51 PM ^
We will see. He's a hard worker, and if he ends up in the NFL, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Jim Leonard out of Wisconsin comes to mind. Doing well for the Jets. I wouldn't totally count Kovacs out of an NFL career.

Kovacs doesn't seem slow to me. I hear this meme all the time,"Kovacs is slow", I look for it on the field but I cain't see it. Kovacs does NOT have a case of the slows, not a burner, but not slow either.
Maybe Kovacs was slower as a frosh coming off knee surgery, but I can't recall if he was or wasn't, it was too recent. I have a better memory for things that happened in the 70's and 80's

someone is going to give him a chance.

Denard should keep shopping at Koger. He made some gophers look silly on a few plays.

I love me some Kovacs. This Christmas I'm pullin the trigger on the #32 jersey.

Kovacs > Rudy

Just wanted to make mention of the torrent being up, just in case anyone missed the post on the board.

They are the grittiest players to ever grit the face of this gritty world.
October 2nd, 2011 at 10:22 PM ^
Don't forget our other gritty players: Roh, RVB, Heininger, Brink, Ryan, Van Slyke, Molk, Lewan, Huyge, Schofield, Dileo, McColgan, Mealer, Khoury, Paskorz, Watson, Wile, Gibbons, and Hagerup. Tony Posada was gritty, too, but he quit the team.

I love both of those kids. They don't have all the physical gifts of everyone else, but they would always be one of my first picks to start a team with.

Knovacks?
October 2nd, 2011 at 10:25 PM ^
I'm suprised parkinggod didn't include our three, count 'em, three FG in his video.
October 3rd, 2011 at 12:26 PM ^
In retrospect, I probably should have. My rule of thumb is not to include FGs unless they're long-distance and/or game-critical, but I should have recognized that we almost equaled our entire 2010 total in that one game.

our Rudy is actually good at football!

Anyone have a vid or screen shot of the poster of Mattison in Madison (i.e. the best College Gameday sign from this past weekend)?
October 2nd, 2011 at 11:39 PM ^
So I've pretty much decided that if I ever have a son I'm going to break out tapes of Kovac's days at Michigan and show them to him. He is the perfect example of how putting in the work, staying dedicated to your dream, and never giving up can allow you to achieve what many think is impossible. Its a life lesson that is so valuable. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

The piece on Kovacs didn't really get into it, but wasn't he a standout HS player before he had his knee injury?
I can't remember where I read it (probably Mgoblog), that he had a fair amount of D1 interest but his knee injury was significant enough that schools backed off completely.

Thanks for including that Kovacs short. I could watch that over and over again. Such a a great story and I'm happy for his success. The kid deserves it. I hope he gets on an NFL squad some where.

Brian will have fun with that UFR. Going to take a yeoman's effort. That's a lot of plays! Guess the defensive one won't be that big of a deal...:-)
Thanks for the vids!
