Dantonio chooses the Friday team movie: The Waterboy
If I met Mark Dantonio, I could not shake his hand.
While running to the store yesterday, I was listening to the MSU broadcast post-game interviews, and in passing, Dantonio said that the team had watched The Waterboy for its Friday team movie. Is there any chance they have already run through all of the truly inspirational football movies and this was the last one left -- a remarkable coincidence? Or were Dantonio and his coaches and players all giggling and elbowing each other over the uncanny resemblance of Adam Sandler and Luke Fickell? If he chooses The Flinstones Movie right before the Michigan game, my suspicions will be confirmed.
Dantonio blah-blah-blahed about respect and whatnot when Fickell got the job, but I think his choice of Friday team movie says more about his respect for Luke Fickell and the sort of juvenile person Dantonio is at heart.
Or it is all simply a coincidence. Or I'm the only person who looks at Fickell and thinks Waterboy.

I'm pretty sure that was probably a coincidence. Then again, what do I know? I just figured they probably watched "Little Giants" on a weekly basis.

Which top and heels did he choose? That's much more important to his night than the movie they see...

In Dantonio's case, it would be a fashion disaster if the shoes matched the "bag."

I think it's because of the Roy Orbison tattoo on the coach's butt.

I'd be beyond livid about his cutesy stop-the-clock timeout with 30 seconds left in an effort to preserve the shutout. It directly led to the OSU td and they were luckier than hell the Bucks didn't get the onside

Didn't see the game

I wouldn't care about the time out, but I would be really pissed about calling a blitz in that situation

My hatred of him will ONLY grow when he takes the OSU job.
After all, his "interview" on Saturday went well.
The Sparty Schadenfreude on that day will be especially tasty.

.....the RCMB servers will explode and wipe out East Lansing. Thermonuclear Schadenfreude.

I think of Pee Wee Herman immediately.

Who cares what movie Dantonio chooses for his team to watch? We have two weeks and I believe this nightmare will end but in the mean time lets remember who we are.

I loathe Dantonio. But if he did in fact choose "The Waterboy" because Sandler looks like Fickell... well, that's pretty funny. I give him credit.
(Plus it was educational - only a handful of their players knew that H2O meant "water". They might get academic credit.)

....but then we should challenge them to get one of us a glass of ice-cold dihydrogen oxide and see what they bring us.

It was said elsewhere on this board before, but bears repeating:
Has there ever been a more perfect match between a school and a coach than MSMoo and Mark "MaxiPad" Dantonio?

Is it just me or is Luke Fickell a dead ringer for Adam Sandler?

I Googled "Luke Fickell" and it auto-finished "luke fickell adam sandler" as the fourth option.

I'm surprised he'd let his team watch a movie that has a brief mention of Michigan in it. (Actually, on second thought he probably had it edited out.)
