This is going to be a long season for hockey fans. Not that we aren't good (we are) but we have no snipers. I hate watching games where we have 20 shots on net and only 1 goal.

I don't give a shit if this is an exibition, losing to this team is pathetic. At least we can take some kind of comfort in the fact that it doesn't count towards the standings.

Had to check UOIT's results from last year on the off-chance they were better then we expected. Nope. 7th of 9 in their division with a 12-12-4 record. Yes it's an exhibition game but this isn't a good sign.

I won't judge this team until the real season starts tuesday against niagara.
niagara went 18-13-4 last season. A mediocre AHA team based on their results from last season. In their exhibition earlier today, they beat queens 7-2.
After Michigan plays niagara, they play bentley historical library and the week after st lawrence catholic parish (I kid, I kid)

There is no clear indicator of what went wrong for lack of stats, but im going to go out on a limb and hope that this game was lost because red had the younger players on the top lines for experience. I did hear on the radio broadcast that sparks was playing with brown but I didn't listen long enough to figure out the lines. 15 minutes of PP and one goal is disgusting.

That was awful. No rhythm at all, just skating back and forth all night. That's probably the most penalties I've ever seen in one game too and we couldn't take advantage. Oh well, just an exibition.

Yeah, turns out when you graduate a legendary senior class that was the heart and soul of your team, you end not being so good. Gonna be a lonnnnnnng year.

Gonna be a very long year for me regardless of how we do. I got tickets with my girlfriend and we just broke up.

If i remember the first game last year we tied mercyhurst in similar fashion. I saw a tons of postives tonight. The Treais Moffat DeGiusippe (sp) line was great at getting chances. Their goalie stood on his head and stopped something like 55 shots which is outrageous. Hyman had a great nose for being in the right place at the right time and just needs to bury some shots. Improvement is necessary but i am still not ready to throw the season away because of a silly loss in an exhibition game against UOIT...

for being the voice of reason. it's one game, people, before which Michigan was unable to take advantage of perhaps their biggest asset-their coaching staff. It's not like they got outplayed, they got beat. Remember the North Dakota game last year? Sometimes the better team doesn't always win. It's not like Michigan got horribly outplayed by a Canadian team, they play UOIT again tonight and Michigan cruises to some absurd magin of victory, but this is hockey and things like this happen. It's embarrassing, but step back from the ledge because that's all it is. You should be really excited that DiGiuseppe looks likes he's ready to play some NCAA games, because he might be the most talented offensive player on the team, he's just also the youngest. I wasn't able to be at the game, but by all reports Bennett looked the very improved Red claimed, Pateryn looked really good, Wohlberg looked good. Everything will be fine, just give it some time.
EDIT: For further comfort, note that, what should be a very good BU team lost to St. Francis Xavier, a Canadian team, 6-4. While what should be a very good DU team only managed to tie Canada's McGill University

The real victory was nobody was injured and the freshman got out there. Phil Di Giuseppe and Zach Hyman are gonna be the real deal when the get more experience. Especially PDG, kid looks like a gamer.
