They need to put Gosder Cherilus back in at RT. I think he gets the point by now. As for Backus, time to retire and the Lions to trade up and draft a GOOD left tackle prospect to start next year.

James Martin of Stanford would do.

Cherilus was getting owned by the other end too.  The Lions offensive tackles are the weakness of the team (also kick/punt coverage, looks like).  None of them are good enough to play in this league anymore.  Something they need to try to address, but trading that far up (hopefully/looking at the schedule) is dangerous at best.

I thought they changed the OT rules so that if the first team with the ball scored only a fieldgoal, the other team would then get one possession.  Was that proposed but not implemented, or what's the deal?  Apparently I'm not the only one who's confused...

...and Hanson calmly drilled the field goal for the winning score.

There was a little confusion after the kick, with officials blowing their whistles and holding off the celebration. But this was a long time coming for the Lions, and coach Jim Schwartz could be heard over the referee's microphone yelling "Learn the (expletive) rules!" as he jogged toward his handshake with the Vikings' Leslie Frazier.

I'm trying Coach! I'm trying!

As a Lions fan, thank you Vikings for ignoring AP in the 2nd half. He beat up on us pretty good early on. Good win for the Lions. Now, let's go an beat "America's team" next week in Dallas!

anyone know if there is a replay scheduled on the NFL network?

I looked through their broadcast schedule but I couldn't find anything during the week that would suggest they re-air entire games, which is a bummer. Would have loved to have recorded that game.

I take credit for the win. I live on the left coast and never get to see the lions play. I'm visiting michigan right now. I turned it on at halftime, and clearly gave them the inspiration to win.

Go Big Ten (Curtis Painter)!

Have we been spoiled or what? Some great games today! Buffalo - New England, Detroit - Minnestoa, amongst others, and now Pitt - Indy.

OT EDIT: Is anyone watching the Yanks - Sox game? Epic.
