How is LSU only -6? Is WVU actually decent with Stewart gone?
September 24th, 2011 at 8:05 PM ^
I think LSU is going to murder WVU so it will probably be a close game.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:06 PM ^
Maybe we should talk about Minnesota and NDSU? Not looking so hot out there...
September 24th, 2011 at 8:10 PM ^
It sounds a lot of NDS fans are in the stadium.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:22 PM ^
I thought the same thing. Short trip for a big game for them I suppose. I'm sure Minnesota/NDSU tickets weren't too hot i Minneapolis.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:19 PM ^
Or the Indiana-North Texas game? Not looking so hot over there either. I mean, Indiana isn't supposed to be world beaters or anything, but North Texas is 0-3 on the season already (though one loss was to Alabama)
September 24th, 2011 at 8:11 PM ^
LSU isn't really explosive, and I could see them being satisfied with keeping the game close. That said, -6 seems tasty.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:07 PM ^
Corso picked the tiger head so it is a done deal that LSU will win.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:56 PM ^
Rich Rodriguez picked WVU, so there's that!
September 24th, 2011 at 8:12 PM ^
Les looks like he is ready to eat field turf.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
Lets get this out of the way, Michigan should not wear the all maize uniform ever.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
I concur
September 24th, 2011 at 8:28 PM ^
WVU provides a valuable public service by giving us a demo of how bad the all-yelllow banana unis would look on Michigan. Thank you.
On the other hand, excellent "Maize-out" on their part. Why can every other school with yellow as a color - WVU, Iowa, etc. - do a proper full stadium "Maize-out" except us?
September 24th, 2011 at 9:33 PM ^
because we have twice as many people to coordinate?
September 24th, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
In the ND game, the pom-poms actually were pretty effective at creating an illusion of a Maize-Out.
September 24th, 2011 at 10:27 PM ^
Because I've seen enraged elderly gentleman scoff at the notion of wearing maize.
True story:
A few years ago at a game I saw an old man shout at a student wearing a "Go Blue Wear Maize" shirt, "No! Don't wear maize, wear blue!" Ahhhhh, people....

On the field
September 24th, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
apologies for the misplacement but I don't know how to get this it's own topic (not that it deserves it)
But Minnesota has gone to backup QB Max Shortell. the game is tied at 14 near halftime. should be a nice relaxing game next week.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:18 PM ^
Shortell played last week (or 2 weeks ago). So, it's not a shock, but yeah, it's not good.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:18 PM ^
Should have just been offsetting.
Weird, that it would be an SEC officiating crew in Morgantown.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:21 PM ^
Refs just fucked Vandy. Tie ball goes to the receiver, but they awarded it to South Carolina deep in Gamecock territory.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:22 PM ^
...and it was tipped about 700 times. Interesting, and lucky for LSU.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:28 PM ^
Poor Minn.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
Description please?
September 24th, 2011 at 8:29 PM ^
What a play to go to the half in the NDSU vs Minnesota game.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:29 PM ^
The Goofers! NDSU intercepts, fumbles it, teammate picks it up and runs it in for a TD. What a LIonesque play.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:31 PM ^
in the NDSU-Minn game. NDSU picked off Minnesota, ran it back a ways, the guy got tackled but fumbled the ball behind him and a teammate picked it up and ran the rest of the way to the endzone to close out the half. Minnesota is looking awful right now.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:34 PM ^
Some dude named Jenson is going all Hulkamania on them.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:35 PM ^
36 trucks remove fire fuel (couches) as WVU-LSU game looms
On the one hand, I'm appalled. On the other hand, I'm a little bit impressed.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:36 PM ^
Too much size, physicality, and yes, speed. Brute strength plus speed equals dominance.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:40 PM ^
nice punt too.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:47 PM ^
TD Missouri, 13-3 w/ point pending. FYI, it's on FX w/ Gus Johnson on the call.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:51 PM ^
I'm not so sure.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:56 PM ^
Missouri is up 14-3 on OU. At times like this I wish I had cable so I could hear Gus Johnson explode over this upset.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:56 PM ^
OU comes right back. The catch was whacky: Hands, thigh and back in his midsection. 14-10 w/ 4:07 in 2nd qtr.
September 24th, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
looks like an NFL team with the size and speed they have.
September 24th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
All I ever pay attention to is Cornerbacks and I must say Morris Claiborne Is a complete STUD. I think hes the best in the nation or right behind Janoris Jenkins.
September 24th, 2011 at 10:53 PM ^
Passes the eye test for sure. They hardly threw his way. Actually, they hardly threw period. UNA struggled to a 28-20 win versus an option team.
September 24th, 2011 at 11:17 PM ^
Janoris Jenkins is basically perfect. I would take him over Patrick Peterson anyday.Better Zone Coverage, Off man coverage in better that Patricks, his press Coverage isnt as good but its still above average by far, nice size- i like my corners a tad bit smaller, better hips, nice speed, great tackler, only down fall is his off the field issues.
September 24th, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
Both Zach Banner and Jordan Payton are visitng OU, so an OU loss would be great.
September 24th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
OU just scored a TD 17-14 Oklahoma
I underestimated LSU, more so the offense but even the defense some. Alabama-LSU will be the game-of-the-century for 2011.
Don't like the pin stripes and striped tie on Herbie.
September 24th, 2011 at 9:48 PM ^
LSU's defense is scary good. And Mathieu is Ed Reed. Hate him a little bit for that camera stare down just then.
September 24th, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
I want us to emulate that kind of D. I think we are heading in that direction. We have the coaching and the recruiting is moving in the right direction.
Defense wins Championships. LSU will be in the hunt for one because of their D, even though their O is pedestrian.
September 24th, 2011 at 9:48 PM ^
OU scores in "a NY minute" according to Gus. 24-14 OU.
September 24th, 2011 at 9:48 PM ^
Shaun King is calling the game and he looks like he went undefeated in crawdad eatin' contests rather than college football games. Good lord, did he get fat in a hurry.
September 24th, 2011 at 9:52 PM ^
LSU scores again. 27-7 just before halftime. And the Ess-Eee-Cee chant starts. Sigh. Don't think they're saying that in Starkville where La Tech is ties with MSU (ntMSU).
Did you see the crawl that Mauti is "likely out for the season" for PSU

Was the Minnesota thread deleted?
September 24th, 2011 at 10:00 PM ^
There were about 4 open threads at once, so we consolidated them.
