OT: Friday Night Open/"What are you drinking?" Thread

Submitted by Wenham Wolverine on

Gorgeous Al is gorgeous.

Someone asked for a thread about how gorgeous Gorgeous Al is; here you go.

(My goodness, that is a gorgeous human being.)

Discuss Al, baseball, Red Wings preseason hockey, fine beverages, or any other topic that doesn't belong elsewhere.

If anybody is interested, the Red Wings official site is streaming the preseason game with the Flyers. I'm hockey starved so I'm checking it out. Excited to see some of the guys play (mainly Emmerton. wanna see how he does fighting for a roster spot)

My favorite beer is from Alpine Beer Co.. in Alpine, CA--20 minutes east of SDSU campus.  The best IPA's I've ever had.  As good as Pliney the Elder (imo).

side note..Ryan Lindlay's hometown is Alpine...a mountain town, and he looks like a mountain man.  I will burry some mountain town brew..M needs to burry some mountain town QB.

Guinness from the can along side a dry aged porterhouse, (seared and finished in a cast iron pan under the broiler).

I have a sixer of Narragansett Tall Boys, but I have no intention to finish them all. Watching the Bruins preseason game with the Sox game postponed. Probably switch to the UCF-BYU game soon.

In Ann Arbor from Nashville with a buddy for the game tomorrow, followed by JV going for 25 @ CoPa. Anyone recommend some bars to check out? We're not alumni, just lifelong fans and former Michiganders transplanted in TN. Checked out campus for the 1st time this afternoon, gorgeous.
<br>Any help would be appreciated guys..or a link to an archived threat with some hot spots. Sports on tv are a plus.

The Lee Tregurtha has a pretty interesting history.  She used to be an ocean going ship during World War II.  Was sold and converted to the lake freighter style (pilot house in front, deckhouse in back).  If you look at one of the closeup pictures, you will see her war ribbons.
