Killing another stupid meme: we had sleds last year

They are in the background all throughout this video.  See 0:28 and 2:28, etc.  I'm sure there's other videos of them actually using the sleds as well.  I went into youtube and literally opened one Countdown to Kickoff video from 2010.  I'm sure this won't stop people from parroting something they heard on BTN, though.

EDIT: OK, second video I open shows them using the sleds at 0:35 too.  It is pretty hilarious (sad?) how far some people will go to criticize the last coaching staff.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0qgFoYynDA&feature=related

Yeah! How dare anyone bring up a comment from a former Michigan All-American presenting a quote from the current DC???? What type of person would continue to watch the game rather than researching the assertion immediately??? By the way, did RichRod get promoted?

Oh the tired, the sad, the RR defenders...

Look, I hate the JOB that your boy did here; I couldn't care less about the guy.  Beyond that, my gripe is that a guy whose name is "PromoteRichRod" is attacking people who would quote a Michigan All-American (who was quoting our current DC)...rather than attacking the SOURCE of the information.  It's like trusting child safety tips from someone named "EatLeadPaint".

I'll continue to trust the Michigan All-American and Defensive Coordinator over someone whose name alone reveals that his judgment is terminally impaired.  As Magnus pointed out below, there exists the possibility that multiple "sled" types exist.  I think Jon Jansen knows more that "Promote RichRod".  I also think that Mattison does as well. There's no need to attack people for trusting a very solid source.

I expect the national media to do that because they are lazy and shitting on RR makes for a great "Michigan is back" story.  When they have a choice between recycling stale memes and doing homework, they would rather recycle.

What sucks is when people within the fanbase who should know better do it.

So true ... you're basically calling out meatheads like Tom Dienhart.

If you look back on the Rodriguez years, there are *so* many easy targets (GERG, '09 defensive recruiting decisions, Gardner's wasted redshirt, etc.). Do RichRod's critics concentrate solely on those? Oh, no -- not when they can ridicule a 5'7" DEFENSIVE TACKLE!!! (Aside: Dominique Ware, a walk-on, was once cited as proof that Rodriguez was RECRUITING MIDGETS (!!!).)

Aside (and verging on flamebait, sorry): As is my custom when bothering to vote (up in this case), I checked to see who had the nerve to -1 this. Not surprisingly, dahblue, who is apparently still afraid that Brandon might bring back Rodriguez, weighed in negatively. Keep the flame, dude! He was joined by his little buddy yoopergoblue. :)

Someone on TV said something insane, absurd and false.  It starts getting repeated all over the site and taken as fact.  I take thirty seconds after the game is over to post a link showing video evidence that the statement was false.  It gets negged.  lol

I have a pretty good case of OCD, no joke.  I mean, I'm not medicated for it, but I just checked to make sure my front door was locked.  Then I checked it again.  Then I checked . . . you get the idea.  The problem with OCD is that it very important to remember your "triggers."  As in, don't fucking let yourself get triggered in to a loop if you can help it.

The funny thing, is that I apparently have a lot of loops that contain little diverticula where my hatred for the Freep, Rosenberg, et al comes to the forefront.  Check my front right pocket, check my front left pocket, I want to punch Rosenberg in the spleen, grab my car keys, lets go.  I seriously hate them as much as you do, Section 1.  I will never forgive them for what they did and I don't think it's unreasonable to remind people of their treachery.  I will always plus one your Freep hatred.

Did the old coaching staff take the sleds with them?  That seems like a pretty silly claim to make if it's not true.  Maybe the new staff just meant they thought they needed more sleds.

Whether they had sleds or not is immaterial: anyone whose name on here is Promote Rich Rod should be banned, taken out back, and shot for a combination of treason and idiocy.

I seem to remember a story (or maybe it was a post on here) about the OSU jerseys on the sleds coming to the surface a couple years ago when another tired meme was being thrown around....that the reason we were losing to OSU and MSU was because RichRod didn't care about the games enough.

Well I can think of two possible explanations:

1) Mike Martin SMASHED all the sleds in anger after the bowl game

2) GERG stole them after getting fired. Strapped them to the roof of his Prius (I always pictured GERG driving a Prius) and drove 'em right out of town.

I might be wrong (I stopped listening closely to the BTN announcers right around, oh, kickoff), but when I heard mention of Mattison talking about sleds, I got the impression he was talking about tackling sleds (a.k.a. the popsicle sled or something like it).

Oh you Carr-era players, you. Stay classy. Seriously, what is the count on dumb RR cheap shot artists now?

Braylon, Jansen, Dreisbach, Trent, Dhani -- and these are just some of the guys who took explicit shots along with the mountain of subtle and back-handed ones that I lost track of a long time ago.

Thank God Hoke seems to want to end this divisive shit, but it still blows me away how we managed to become the cattiest sports entity in the world.
