Recruiting Updates: Michigan offers Cameron Burrows
Check out the blue board for your recruiting news: http://247sports.com/Board/30/Michigan-Thread-2685013/871
Projected to be the best CB in Ohio, an absolute beast IMO. We`re a little late to the party..with offers from several BCS schools, including osu. Considered a heavy buckeye lean, offering cant hurt though. He had a really good time at the game last saturday, here is a free article on 247: http://247sports.com/Article/Michigan-offers-Future247-prospect-40138
Danny O`Brien said he has a date in mind for his commitment, oct 7 (his homecoming)... not in stone. I like our chances, just need to fend off UT.
Steve Wiltfong (247 analyst) on Dunn's recruitment:
"Michigan is definitely in the mix. Anyone that says otherwise is misinformed.
The Wolverines staff is doing a great job recruiting Dunn. In my story it reads that Fred Jackson compares Dunn to Tyrone Wheatley. Who wouldn't want to be compared to Tyrone Wheatley? Jackson also tells Dunn and his coach that Michigan thinks he's the best RB in America. Very flattering, and a prospect can't ignore that. Plus the opportunity to play next fall at Michigan is intriguing.
Dunn also told me he wants to get to Michigan for a game this fall. He originally planned to be at the Ohio State game but seeing his schedule, he hopes to be playing deep into the Ohio state tournament that weekend. So he doesn't miss the atmosphere of a Wolverines game, he told me he'll try and get up there sooner.
I would be zero-percent surprised if Dunn ended up in Ann Arbor. If someone made me predict right now, I'd say Michigan. Obviously it's recruiting and a lot of things are going to change and develop as he visits Ohio State again and things like that, but I really like the Wolverines as of 9/14/2011 at 11am (EST)."
pretty encouraging

Does Dunn really have the speed to be compared to Wheatley? I thought he was more of a Ricky Powers or Anthony Thomas type back.
September 15th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
Don't forget who is making the comparison here.
September 15th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
Yeah, I haven't heard anything about Dunn being a track star. Maybe he is, I just haven't seen it brought up.
September 16th, 2011 at 12:13 AM ^
sometimes he has a problem getting the corner, and that's in high school, so I doubt he's much of a speedster.
September 15th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
It's Fred Jackson making that comment so, hell yeah de does.
September 15th, 2011 at 10:54 PM ^
I was watching an old Michigan-ND game last week. Anthony Thomas returned kicks for us? I definitely don't remember that.
September 15th, 2011 at 11:22 PM ^
Just like Wheatley but faster! Can't wait to see him running behind Kalis as Ohio fans cry like little girls.
September 16th, 2011 at 10:56 AM ^
Thank you for writing this. That was just beautiful. Just beautiful.
September 16th, 2011 at 9:16 AM ^
I have seen Dunn play for the past 3 years. He doesnt have Wheatley speed at all. The Ricky Powers comparison is much more accurate. Brionte was at the Penn St/Bama game last week.
September 15th, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
We also offered OT out of Texas named Jake Raulerson. Also heard Pipkins picked up a USC offer today.
September 16th, 2011 at 9:17 AM ^
Rhymes with Maulerson.
September 15th, 2011 at 10:31 PM ^
isn't who wouldn't wanna be compared to Wheatley, it should be who wouldn't Fred Jackson compare to Wheatley?
September 15th, 2011 at 10:38 PM ^
good point ....
September 15th, 2011 at 10:38 PM ^
I hear we're in 4* RB Greg Garmon's top 2.
September 16th, 2011 at 12:15 AM ^
Yeah, I wonder how his visit went. Did he make it down for ND as he was planning?
September 15th, 2011 at 11:38 PM ^
I remember hearing a lot about dunn decommiting way back when kalis did but it went away, than came back and was supposed to be a secret. Who knows what is really going on but I would assume that if at anytime he switched his commitment we would be the last to know about it because the backlash would be 10X worse than what we saw from kalis.

The OP did say that Burrows is an OSU "lean". Guess he wasn't kidding, huh ?
BTW - I can't help but notice that if you look at our schedule, we don't play Northwestern until Oct. 8, and the games before that aren't our hardest. We could easily be heading into Danny O' Brien's announcement date unbeaten. UT, on the other hand might beat Buffalo, but I don't know that they can sneak past the Gators. I know that he is clever enough not to make his decision based on the W/L record before even the halfway mark, but we might have a bit more momentum and buzz than the Vols do at that point in the year.
I'm probably clutching at straws with that, but there's nothing wrong with a little optimism as far as recruiting goes. . . .

"The OP did say that Burrows is an OSU "lean". Guess he wasn't kidding, huh ?"
yeah, but he doesn't look happy about wearing it.

So what if O'Brien commits to Michigan because of our record, but then loses every game after that? That just means he probably decommits (if he committed based off our record). The second half of the season probably matters even more than the first half of the season in actuality.

undefeated and ranked on the night before the MSU game last year and we got a commit from Dee Hart. Let's not get all crazy here.
September 16th, 2011 at 2:11 PM ^
Dee Hart was part of the Bama Alliance and a traitor. TAKE HIM AWAY!

Doesn't UM start every year 5-0 with the September Heisman winner?
<br>Only to be dealt a weekly curb-stomping at the feet of their Big Ten brethren.

Wait until you buckeye trolls can't even enjoy the month of September as your program spirals into oblivion because the truth was revealed that your empire was a house of cards supported by a liar and some cheaters.

Fixed that for you. Also, why do you think he is a Buckeye troll?
September 16th, 2011 at 12:37 PM ^
Perhaps go look at anything I've ever posted on this site before you open your mouth and make yourself look stupid.
September 18th, 2011 at 4:51 AM ^
I was replying to a post that has since been deleted, and now it mistakenly looks directed at you. There was, in fact, a Buckeye troll who posted some trash on this thread. My apologies.

Yes. Two years is the entire existence of Michigan football. Idiot.

has officials scheduled for Tenn and MSU, but both are after his scheduled announcement date. Looks good for the good guys.

September 16th, 2011 at 12:57 AM ^

.....and saw this thread, wondering at first why we would offer this Cameron guy holes in the ground, but then it clicked that we're talking about CB the CB recruit.

Try waking up again.

I saw Fred Jackson the other day and he was telling me about a kid who was faster than Carl Lewis, bigger than Taylor Lewan, had better hands than a neurosurgeon, and shot lightning bolts out of his eyes. Then he said Dunn is better than that kid.
September 16th, 2011 at 7:00 AM ^
haha I love it. Can he bench a Mack truck too?
September 16th, 2011 at 8:23 AM ^
You saw him too, that was awesome when he picked that Truck up like a Tonka toy.

how good a recruit feels about himself after listening to Freddy J? Recruit after meeting," Damn I knew I was good, but I didn't realize I was THAT good."
