EMU Golf Course Parking - Open?

Submitted by ryanfourmayor on

Does anyone know the status of the Golf Courses? Weather has been clear on the West side of the state but it was also all last week and Ann Arbor got dumped on all that week.

Id rather park on the UofM (edited) Course for $30 dollars then be stuck behind pioneer for $40.

course has always been $40 for me. Don't know if theres a difference between  Ann Arbor Golf & Outing Club and Ann Arbor Golf Course. AAGOC is directly across the stadium and $40.

But having tailgated at PiHi for the first time last week -- for 9 hours -- I never saw a cop, much less any enforcement of this policy.  Bottle scavengers made a killing, I might add.  PiHi/AAPS would be stupid to enforce it, as no one would park there anymore (at least no one who enjoys a tasty cocktail) and they would lose that income.  I suspect it's more of a CYA issue than anything else.

I would imagine the course would be open.  It has been nice in Ann Arbor for the past week.  But there is always the possibility of the courses not drying out from last week.

Almost a guarantee it's open. All the alcohol you can drink. There's a lot of places you aren't "technically" supposed to have alcohol but nobody inforces it. It's a TAILGATE!

From an annarbor.com article:

Both the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club and University of Michigan Golf Course expect to be open for parking during Saturday’s game against Eastern Michigan University.

The 2 golf courses were closed last week for the Notre Dame game after a massive rain storm swept through the area.

Phil Anderson, a U-M Golf Course Pro Shop employee, said that unless a similar storm comes through Saturday morning, tailgaters will be able to use the course once again.

There's no rain in the forecast, so the golf courses should be open for parking.

EDIT: Forecast now says "chance of sprinkles" tonight, but that shouldn't be an issue.
