Can't say I have a favorite, but I do appreciate it when they make the game entertaining like they did last year. For this one I'd lean ND since they are 0-2 already and can knock Sparty off their high horse, but I honestly don't care that much.

...a favorite but I would prefer to see UM have more distance in winning percentage over ND and continue to increase the gap as far as total wins. Ultimately lifting UM's history and tradition over ND where I feel it should be. I've always found their legend elevated over UM's, the school that taught them how to play, to be an abomination. However if sparty loses I'll be ok with that too.

Do we have to root for one or the other? Can't we just watch without any concerns, knowing that the fanbase of the losing team is guaranteed to melt down in spectacular fashion?

and I'd like to rub it in that their supposed BCS Championship season consists of their team starting out 0-3. MSU fans just annoy me and make me laugh with their stupidity. ND fans, on the other hand, piss me off and make me want to strangle someone.

If MSU is still undefeated when we play them, it'll make the victory that much sweeter when we beat them. And it'll mean a higher jump up in the polls after we beat them too. And on top of that, we get to enjoy ND's misery over going 0-3, hear Lou Holtz changing his prediction to 9-3 for ND, and we get to hear the fire Brian Kelly talk. It's a win-win!

Notre Dame is a five point favorite and Lou Holtz said they were going to "the BCS game" so I'm obviously picking them. /s

Seriously though,I root for ND every week but Michigan week (and if they were to ever play Tennessee) so I want ND to win.

Notre Dame.  We've already beat them, they've already been humbled.  Sparty is still riding high.  They need to be brought down to earth, preferably HARD.

We have a fairly close competition with ND for the alltime winning percentage whereas we only compete with MSU in conference.  Better to have ND lose.

That's a tough one. If I had to compare my friends that go to those two schools, I have to say I like my Notre Dame friends better. So Notre Dame it is.

Watching ND in misery and Lou Holtz apopleptic and Brian Kelly's head possibly exploding is just too fun.  Let's keep it up for one more week and root for Sparty to lose to CMU the week after.

I also hope MSU beats the Ohio school to the south the week on week #5 so that the Ohio school to the south can gnash its teeth about its 5-game suspensions and all that might have been.

Can I just root for Brian Kelly's head to explode?  I'm rooting for whatever outcome causes this to be so.

Edit:  Beaten to the punch by river-z.  Must be on a lot of wish lists.

I hear what you're saying but the problem with that is that Sparty will still be 6-1.  They won't be able to act all high and mighty around Michigan fans, but they'll still be a pretty highly ranked team if they are 6-1 after that loss.  I'd rather see them lose to ND and a few additional games to boot.

I want ND to lose more than I want MSU to lose. And that PAINS because I literally hate Dantonio more than I hate Tressel or anyone related to OSU outside of David Boston...and probably Dantonio more now that I think about it because we beat the crap out of Boston.

However, I love chaos. And to see Notre Dame at 0-3, their fan base freaking out, ESPN talking about firing Brian Kelly, and just the scene that will be South Bend on fire...who can pass that up? It would be amazing, and I really need and want it to happen.

ALSO, if MSU keeps winning, I'd love for it to be MICHIGAN that knocks them off...not Notre Dame.

However, because I want this to happen...ND is going to win by like a FG and MSU won't be heartbroken and ND's season will be saved.

Notre Dame.

0-2 is a bad enough start to make me happy. I'd rather have MSU lose to an 0-2 ND team than have an 0-3 ND team & 3-0 MSU team.

I don't like either, especially Michael Floyd & Brian Kelly on the ND side, but a loss to an 0-2 Notre Dame team will do wonders with the perception of MSU as a "contender." My whole family, other than me obviously, are MSU fans, and have heard way too much from them the last few years.

Go Irish. Crush the Spartans.

But more importantly, Go Blue. Demolish EMU.

Yeah I want MSU to win, but I'm not going to "root" for them. Partly because I like to see the Big Ten get wins, but also because I want to have Sparty be undefeated before we defeat them.

I like the way you two think.  Our conference has taken too many hits against its overall strength, and out of conference loses like the ones Iowa, Purdue and Indiana have suffered do little to change that type of thinking of the national public opinion.  I wish more people would realize a lost for any other B1G team is not a win for UM, unless of course that team is playing UM.

I'm torn because at first I say I want the Irish to win, just to knock MSU fans down, since we already beat ND, I don't care who ND beats from here. I hate MSU more than ND.

But then I think, I want MSU to be undefeated (if they can get through that team in Ohio) when they play us, which would be nice for us to beat them if we're both undefeated at that time. That would be fantastic. So then I lean towards MSU.

In the end, I simply cannot root for MSU, so I'd have to say ND.

I do my best to pretend I'm rooting for MSU for my family.

In reality I'm silently pulling for ND because MSU fans are far more insufferable after they win a "big" game.
