Shane Morris cryptic tweet

Submitted by freernnur5 on

So Shane Morris recently tweeted something interesting:

Just heard the best news of the dayyy... #impatient

ScoutExile on the blue board also posted saying:

Wait until the interview comes out! I'll post it here.biggrin

Sounds like a possible commit. Guess we will have to wait and see. Based on Shane's tweet I am guessing a WR but who knows. Speculate away as to who it could be.

Morris is a QB, so it would seem reasonable to think that he would be most excited over commitments from either a wide receiver (Jordan Payton) or an offensive lineman (Zach Banner)...or both.

Caption under his pic says:

"Payton said he had the experience of a lifetime on Saturday night at the Big House."

When a top 20 WR who has previously narrowed his list to Cal and Michigan makes a statement like that, I would assume there might be some good news coming.

#12WR Scout, #18WR Rivals, #25WR ESPN, #23WR 247 and 4-star to all.

He would be a welcome addition.  Go Blue!

I know what Morris is talking about.  I can't tell you, but it involves a paper clip, Michigan Stadium, kosher hot dogs, and Fed chief Ben Bernanke.

Just wait.  You'll see.

Well, if I had reported that O'Brien committed, I'd say "fair enough." Except that isn't what happened...

...I texted a friend three texts after the game: "Dymonte committed-- high-fiving fans and telling them", "O'Brien is blue", "-Matt Godin at the tunnel" (I have an iPhone, and sending another text is my lazy way of creating a new line). As many loyal fans know, cell reception is sporadic in the stadium, and the last text ("-Matt Godin at the tunnel") failed. My friend got the text, and assumed I meant he (O'Brien) committed.

It was a... (cue the Zeppelin)... communication breakdown, and it drives me insane.

I may be new at this, but there's a big difference between a kid telling fans he committed after a game (Dymonte) and a kid's best friend (Godin) saying he (O'Brien) committed. Dymonte wants people to know. If he's committed or planning on committing, Danny didn't yet. If you want to see my M.O., look at the interview that you're all calling "tame," (which, again, I did nothing to hype up). If you're not familiar with my writing style, then I suppose it will seem tame.

Even if I did know something, I wouldn't be sharing it. I enjoy writing for my readers on 247sports. I appreciate the publicity, but if I had the ambition to expand my readership to include mgoblog, then I would have applied for the mgoblog job. I have full faith that Ace will do a fine job for you guys, and I'd rather not step on his toes. If you still want to (quietly) read my interviews and articles, you're free to do so, but Ace will do a good job here.

By the way, you should all watch this (it's early, but East Paulding's Kamani Thomas seems to really like Michigan):

Looks a bit like Barry Sanders, doesn't he? This isn't a resuly of poor competition either. East Paulding is class AAAA football (in Georgia).

Hey, I have a guess- it is something in his life entirely unrelated to football or his recruitment. I know, when I was in high school that is the only thing I thought about- not girls, school or anything like that.  But bear with me, I am going out on a limb here. /sarc

Being recruited is not actually his profession, I am sure there is tons of other things going on in his life that he could be excited about.

Does anyone know if Dwayne Stanford was at the game?  I was in the section with a bunch of recruits down low, and when they were leaving (after all the songs and stuff, maybe 20 minutes after the actual game ended) I could have sworn another recruit say "We just might have to be Wolverines, Dwayne." I honestly have no idea, may have been wishful thinking, but take it FWIW, which could easily be nothing.
