Weekend Visitors

Can we compile a list of who's confirmed/might come?

I thought I saw somethiing on Twitter saying that Darboh is taking an official to Wiscy this weekend.  Over UM-ND?  Interesting.

Any word on Dunn?

Scout is saying the list is up near 40.  Recruiting Roundup should be good tomorrow morning.

Sam Webb talked about Darboh and his need to get his family on campus on today's recruiting roundup, issuing a provisional gut feeling about him:

I have a gut feeling that once he gets his guardians on campus that Michigan won't be caught. That's just my gut feeling on the matter. . . . If he gets his family up in a reasonable amount of time, my gut feeling is that they'll [meaning Michigan] get him.

Garnett is waiting to take his officials until after the season, so I wouldn't get too disappointed. He's taking an unofficial to Washington this weekend b/c it's his hometown team. With Banner - his good friend - taking an official, I like Michigan's chances of landing one from Garnett.

Darboh isn't coming...maybe someone is silent or planning to commit? I really liked Darboh but that doesn't sound good for the Wolverines.

edit: Or maybe he made previous plans to visit Wisconsin..hmm.

I find myself completely at ease about recruiting at this point.  This offseason has proved to me, that thus far, the coaches have a pretty damn good handle on the recruiting front.  So if people are taking other visits, or delaying visits at this point, I'm not gonna worry to much about it.  I think the prospects that have waited this long probably are not as concerned about ending the recruiting process early.  They'll take their visits, and in the end, I think we end up with a very good class.

And I for one, would be more than happy to have him.  I know some people think he's overrated, but I think he's very polished.  Not explosive, but still have some elusiveness a la Hemmingway.  He did put up 1000 yards as a sophomore and 900 as a junior while missing two games.  Four years of starting at a big time high school should have him more college ready than a more raw prospect like Powe.  Payton would be a perfect pairing to a deep threat like Powe.

I was high on Garmon early on but haven't been following him since we dropped out of his top schools.  I know he was big on UNC.  Does anyone know how far we've moved up with their problems?  I'd say a visit this weekend is encouraging.

As far as Dunn, I'm far from a recruiting expert but I get a Brandon Saine feel from him for some reason.  Big back, great speed but little wiggle and elusiveness.

It seems like a lot of people are overlooking the fact that Jordan Payton will be there this weekend.  As we all know, WR is a huge need for us at this time.  I wish Garnett was going to be able to make it but I think right now it's more important that Jordan Payton will be on campus than anyone else, with the exception of Dunn.
