Rob Smith "Martinez as fast as Denard"

Submitted by umichjenks on
This moron from College football live says Martinez "is as fast or faster than Denard".

Can anyone superimpose them 2 running beside each other?

Thoughts?? In my opinion Denard beats him hands down.

that Denard is the benchmark of comparing someone to fast, but give me a freakin break!  It isn't surprising coming from someone who went to Ohio.

His name is ROD Smith.

Generally, sports broadcasters with the first name Rod are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Espn college football live sucks. When u have Holtz and smith on there, do u really think there's going to be any good info about Michigan? Yea I don't think so!

No way Martinez will beat Denard in a foot race.  NO F-in WAY.  These talking-heads will say almost anything to generate controversy.  Enough time spent mentally on this.

He did not play in 1991. Never played on a team that beat Michigan (though they did tie 13-13 in 1992). So he's obviously bitter underneath that shit-eating grin of his. Aside from looking perpetually 12 years old, he rarely has anything nice to say about Michigan or Michigan players.

So if  you're looking for objectivity, stop watching Robert Smith or placing any credence upon whatever he has to say.

I don't know, that dude is pretty fast.  I got into an argument on YouTube (mistake No. 1) with some husker blowhard who wouldn't quit telling me how "T-Magic" (gayest nickname ever) was sooo much faster than Denard.  I said fine, I think Shoelace is faster and left it at that, but I think Martinez supporters definitely have a case, at least on the football field.  That dude is wicked fast.  Look at the way he runs away from the secondary in the open field, as well as his first couple steps through the line.  He accelerates as fast as anyone I'd say.  Maybe it's due to the inverted veer you frequently see on his highlights where his body is already in motion, but he defintely gets off the line quickly.
