The Scoreboards Revisited....Mikoyan Goes Wandering Again...
I was sort of happy with my night pictures of the scoreboard last night but not 100% happy, so I decided to stop by after work and get some more shots. There was quite a bit more activity because they were putting some final touches on the boards and there were some TV trailers set up for the game on Saturday. Anyways...

Sweet photos! Yeah I've also never seen that wolverine sculpture before but it seems about two or three times bigger than an actual wolverine...

I wish I would have walked to the other side because I like the eagle more. It at least looks like an eagle.

Appreciate all the work you do Mikoyan. It's nice to see the city when I haven't been back in awhile. I'm sure our MGoPopulace who live cross-country appreciate all your work even more.

I am completely in love with the first picture. I could stare at it all day. The "Wolverine" statue has always been an, um, "period" feature of the Stadium complex for me. I think he looks more like a big o teddy bear.
It's too bad the Ferry Field gate is gone. At least we still have the Big House gates to admire. I made most of my entries as a student at the Northeast gate mostly, but Northwest and North came in handy too.
The fourth picture is great too. I love how I can see a panorama of the new architectural features of the stadium. The semicircular window motif always looks cool on a stadium IMO, but those luxury box windows took it to a whole new level. The University is making a statement: We're here to stay as a football power.

At first I didn't like the new additions. One of the things that I liked about the Big House was that it kind of snuck up on you. From the outside, it was pretty low key as the only thing that stood out was the scoreboards, and even those didn't stand out much. Compare to Spartan Stadium (or even Rynearson Stadium). Then they added the luxury boxes and the Stadium now towers over the surroundings but they kept a brick facade, so it actually fits in.

I was also unsure how the new suites would pan out at first, but after seeing enough videos & photos, I'm surprised how familiar the brick exteriors have already become to me.
