Purdue QB Rob Henry tears ACL
Per a tweet by Joe Schad, Rob Henry tore his ACL. Tough break for Purdue as Henry was supposedly the favorite to start and Marve had the same injury last season.

Maybe it has something to do with the surface they play on. I obviously have no insights, but if they don't have a more modern turf to practice on, that could explain this thing that is stating to seem more like a trend than a fluke.

Purdue actually is the birthplace of Prescription Athletic Turf (a strain of natural grass). Maybe they need to develop a new kind.

but the practice field is Fieldturf. Also, they just got a new Sports Performance (S&C) Director who came from the SF 49ers, and the whole department has been revampt.

Their shrine to the ACL god is just too shabby. Shore it up.

Purdue is so stocked with QB talent that Bellomy's commit to UM was not an issue.

It's God punishing Danny Hope for that abomination of a moustache.

Hope's stache is better than Dave Wannstedt's.

Touche! Wannstedt's 'stache is pure cheese. I feel embiggened by your perfectly cromulent comment.

I'm eagerly awaiting the showdown between Purdue ACL-Hating God and Michigan Secondary-Hating God.
It'll be a Zeus vs Odin clash of epic proportions.

Do not tempt the gods' anger.

This is terrible for him, but especially even worse for the team because they are forced to start Robert Marve. I'm a hurricane fan and when Marve was at the U, all he did was throw interceptions.

so it was like having Jacory Harris as your quarterback...
-bazinga!!!-

Minus the 24 touchdowns Jacory threw in 09.

Hope the kid heals and has a normal career/life but its gone from being schadenfreuded funny to some sort of COTG act.

It almost feels like Drew Brees was the last student-athlete to make it out of West Lafayette without a catastrophic knee injury.

I think Brees had his catastrophic knee injury in HS, so not even he was immune.

What about Kyle Orton? He seemed to escape unharmed.

UM still owes Purdue 2 onside kicks, throw in a couple of trick plays on extra points and fuck it add a flea flicker...Sons a bitches. After the game UM picks up a commitment from Appleby.

There was a play in the first series where they had three Qb's on the field at the same time. They were so decimated they had a QB at RB, WR, and QB. We really didn't have any reason to lose that game (not that we did, but it was WAY closer than it should have been). Maybe the whole Hope v RR thing where he brought his suspended player to meet RR was a curse. Ever since, bad juju for Hope. Can you say Karma?
