Sounds like a solid source haha. It would be interesting though if he was to already start his coaching track. I hope he can find a spot somewhere in the NFL. I love Mike Hart

I can't believe the Lions didn't look at him with Leshoure going down. Hart's blocking ability could be very helpful in keeping Stafford and then Hill healthy. I can't believe Jerome Harrison and Mike Bell got a call before Hart.

Maybe he's helping out the EMU coaching staff knowing the drive to Detroit is really short?

I am a UM fan through and through and love Mike Hart, but the bottom line is he hasn't proven to be a very productive back in the NFL. I know it is hard to be objective when we are fans of a person or team but Mike Hart has proven exactly nothing in the NFL to this point. Celebrate his amazing career at UM but try to be honest about what he has done in the NFL....

The one regular season game he got for Indy he was actually quite good before he hurt his ankle. Much better than Donald Brown. Colts fans were all saying "why haven't we been playing this guy?" in the stands.

He's always going to have a very hard time staying healthy though.

That'd be interesting, but I was also hoping an NFL team would pick him up.  It'd be sad to see him out of pro ball so soon.  He was one of my favorites in college.

Mike Hart is now an assistant coach at EMU.  I've been waiting to post until it was on the EMU website (I checked this evening and it still isn't up).

I remember reading a couple years ago about Hart wanting to be Michigan's coach someday. I'd definetly send my son to play for him someday (I'll probably have kids by the time he is the head man)

that EMU appears to be head-and-shoulders ahead of Mississippi State in total net blog exposure?  Not just from the EMU forum itself, but the mentions on related Michigan websites is probably many times greater, in raw page views, than the ntMsu blogging footprint.

I for one am glad for Mike Hart, if his dream is to be a coach, then great. He is starting off with a coach he knows, he is living very close to where his college career took off. What a great deal for him. You never know what might happen in the world of coaching, hope he has great success in the future, just never against Michigan. One day, he may get to come home.

Well, this can only be good for foreign relations.  Moving from the staid UK to Ypsilanti requires quite an adjustment, and who better to help our limey friends make that transition than Mike Hart.

Obviously he knows the position.  Can the young man recruit and also at EMU how sincere will that message come across?  Kind of a high-profile name for English but when chatting with a player are they believing he is staying at EMU for more than is necessary?  Hart is pretty tight with Barwis - I have no idea what relevance that has but it just crossed my mind.

It's great to hear that Mike is "all in" for Coach English and EMU and happy with his decision to move on from pro football. I would have loved for him to find a gig on a new team, but I want him to be productive and not just bust his ass to sit on the bench or get injured. I wish him the best and very much hope he is a coach at Michigan someday. He's the consummate Wolverine

I have to think Hart's not long for the post, just like Wheatley before him. It'll be nice to see him on the sidelines this fall, though, before he moves on to a real team where they actually win games and whatnot.
