I am disappointed in both, especially Hagerup, but if these suspensions have a big impact then we have bigger issues with the team.  Except for Notre Dame where will need every advantage we can get, I really don't see how missing a punter, albeit a very promising one, should make a big impact over that span.  We should be able to pull out wins against our other oppenents during that strech with even just a decent punter.  And with the three weeks our other options have to prepare, I think we'll be OK.

It serves good two fold. Stonum gets his act together and if he stays straight, we have a helluva hungry receiver in his last year trying to get to the league. Good decision by Hoke.

Here are some of Matt Wile's stats:

Senior Year - Made 10-of-13 field goals with a long of 49 yards and also had 91 of his 101 kickoffs go for touchbacks during his senior season ... punted six times for an average of 41 yards and pinned the East team inside their own 20-yard line twice during the U.S. Army All-American Game ...

Junior Year - converted 9-of-12 field goals with a long of 48 yards as a junior ... averaged a touchback on 89.9 percent of his kickoffs junior year .

Punting in Senior Year

Punts - 40

Average - 36.18 yds

Longest - 54 yds

Punts inside opp. 20 - 13

I haven't looked at any of his senior year tape but loved that in his junior year he was able to at least a couple of times put kickoffs through the uprights.  With this kind of talent and the coaching he's getting here, I'll trust his punting until I see a reason not to.

What's interesting is that he changed his place kicking game up his senior year and started kicking without a block to get ready for college.....as you can see, it didn't affect him adversly.

Good movwe by Hoke.  This gives Denard a homerun threat, and someone he's cofortable throwing to.  Good transition for the WRs with Stonum staying and having Stokes also play.

Pretty disappointed about Will though.  What rules could he have violated for a 4 game suspension?

out of town. Getting his ass suspended for the OSU game was bad enough; he's obviously learned nothing since then.

Next.

is a punter doing to get booted for a few games with such an "awesome" kicking game?  C'mon guys, this isn't MSU or that school down south.  No better example to understand what THE TEAM...THE TEAM...THE TEAM means.

When even one guys screws up it hurts the WHOLE team.
