Not a lawyer but pretty sure thats not a shirt made by the steelers. Probably some guy on the corner who doesn't wanna get his ass sued. See: t-hirt venders on state st. on game day: none of the merch has the actual block M or trademarked/copywritten material.

he has been having a great career so far and is one of the most enjoyable LB's to watch play. He can flat out dominate a game.
I'm glad he's getting paid so well but am I the only who thinks this is a bit ridiculous? They just ended a lockout with both sides pulling at us trying to get us to feel bad for them and now we've got guys getting paid 10M a year + to play a game most of us would (and have) played for free. I'm not saying these guys shouldn't get paid but I just see numbers like that and then I look at the cost of a ticket and it doesn't make me quite as happy. Of course if anyone is going to get paid big bucks I want it to be a Wolverine but it's because of mutual greed between the owners and players that I can't even begin to afford to go to an NFL game :(
(Note: my hometown team is the Cowboys so maybe that's why the prices are so high but I wish they would put a salary cap about 40% below where it is now and force the owners to drop ticket prices rather than just sit on the profits)
At least to me, the mutual greed thing seems more of an issue in the NBA. In the NFL, guys making the Pro Bowl used to do great, but the mid-level and average players were paid pretty poorly comparatively with salaries in other leagues. A 50-50 split of salaries seemed about right with the lockout, and thankfully it's over.
Put it this way I have much less of a problem with Woodley (or any NFL Pro Bowl linebacker) making this much when Rashard Lewis and Gilbert Arenas make around $20 mil a year and suck.

Exactly! The difference between the NFL and NBA is so huge. First and foremost, the NFL players' bodies are hammered every day, getting hit and hitting. NBA players run and maybe bump a little bit (often times crying about it afterwards).

The NFL has more than 3x the number of players per team, and higher costs for coaches. The NFL total salary cost is much higher per team, even with NBA stars making twice what their NFL counterparts are making (and the NBA money is all guaranteed).
is an elite 3-4 OLB so he's getting paid like one. It's the market value of position players.
BTW, for the Cowboys, the reason why it's so expensive is because the stadium is new and Jerry Jones paid a LOT of money for it so the ticket prices has to be high to offset the construction cost.
The Lions ticket is one of the cheaper in the league and it's not that bad, ticket price wise.
The owners have money because of revenue sharing, television contracts and sponsorship contracts. That's how they can afford to pay big money to football players.
Playing in the NFL is a job and it's not the player's fault that they're getting paid big money. I doubt that most of us would've played for free because there's medical expenses from getting hit so hard on a daily basis.

I wouldn't say the owners are making astronomical profits with the amount of money they are pouring into the teams. I am glad they settled the rookie contracts because it was just rediculous paying someone who hasn't played a down in the NFL 50 million guaranteed.

Braylon DIDN'T! In his prime earning years the best this clown could do was a $3M 1 year contract. Braylon's off-field incidents have cost him millions. Since leaving school he's proven he was not worthy of wearing that #1 jersey...

(Hint: He made more in any single year than what Braylon is getting, or has received, in any year.)
nor Harris would've fit in Tampa 2 scheme. Woodley is a tweener and is much better suited as a 3-4 OLB. Harris doesn't quite have the coverage ability to play in this system.
They should've took Justin Durant whom he fits much better in the system but it doesn't matter since he just signed with the Lions.

The Steelers know his value and clearly the Jets know David Harris' value and it's great to see that.
