OT: It appears Zach Follett is hanging up the cleats

Submitted by wresler120 on

Zach Follett posted on his twitter page that his come back attempt is over. The pain was too much, and he doesn't want to risk a life threatening injury. It's too bad, but I wish the kid all the luck in the world. He was a tough competitor and always gave it 100%. At least he is smart enough to realize that there isn't an amount of money worth risking your life over.

Some family friends (up in the CA Bay Area) knew some of his relatives or something, and hes truly a really standout guy. I truly wish him nothing but the best.

Inge to Toledo, Osgood and Draper retire and now Follett is already done, missing out on a chance to be another GRIT folk hero. It hasn't been an easy summer for white athlete-loving folks downriver.

I would imagine that he was paying a pretty hefty premium to Lloyds of London to protect him from an instance just like this one.

You can't go on with an injury that leaves you so vulnerable to further damage. It is very nice that he can 'walk' away from this injury.

Good Luck Zak.
