OT: Mike Leach SI article
I've always found Mike Leach interesting, as a coach and as a person. Andy Staples wrote a short article on him for SI. Not a bad read if you have a minute and interest in the guy.

You do realize this article is almost 2 weeks old right? There was multiple threads when this article and his book was released.
I only just saw it. Wouldn't bother posting it myself if I knew it was already up.
it was a rhetorical question. normally news that is more than a day old has already been posted on the boards, often more than once. news that is 2 weeks will have definitely been posted already. plus, a basic search would've uncovered the old threads.

is that every claim he makes about ESPN and Craig James is backed up by documents and depositions. I feel slightly bad for Leach, but a lot of it is on himself for handling the dismissal as he did. That being said, how he handled it is what makes Leach himself. I was hoping for a little more football philosophy from him in the book, but it's still pretty chock full of football nerdiness in addition to the more salacious ESPN/James stuff. I'm hoping he lands a good major conference job after this season (Washington? Iowa St?)
So, is the book worth the $10 or whatever? Might be worth picking it up . . . .
It's worth it, he's definitely a unique guy and that makes the book very interesting and entertaining
I had no idea Sark was on the hot seat. Considering how god awful UW was for a while you'd think they'd be happy with a winning season and a bowl win in his second year.
Yeah I just saw this article the other day also, and it was definitely worth the read. Leach is an interesting guy.
...was the long profile essay in the Sunday New York Times Magazine, from almost six years ago (December, 2005). That is when I became a Mike Leach fan.
