Great to have you, Sione. Great name, and it'll be nice to have a FB paving the way. He may be small, but I'm sure he'll bulk up and be a great battering ram

Yeah it sounds as if as many teams wanted him at tailback as they did at fullback so he can carry the ball and make some catches out of the backfield. Whether or not he can be a lead blocker is the main question and I'm assuming the staff feels he can otherwise you know, they wouldn't have offered...

We are all sick and pathetic for being so consumed with Michigan Football. All the more reason to continue bleeding MAIZE AND BLUE hahahahahahahaha. Welcome to the family Mr. Sione. My guess on the pronunciation is Sione (C-OHN) Houma (HOW-MUH) What do yall think?

I'm thinking that Sione is the Tongan word for "Zion" and, therefore, should be (sai-oh-nay) (Ho-oo-muh). Polynesian languages are all phonetic. Yeah, I don't know if it's been confirmed that he is Samoan, but he seems kinda Tongan to me.

1 DE, DT, OL and WR

If we get Dunn we can take two of one position and if not WR only get two at one position. Either way the class looks to finish up great with some highly rated players.

I'm not sure how excited I am for this Hello: post.. The sites really aren't a fan of him (I think he's a 2 star to one and NR to the others), but I'm not a knowledgable guy by any means. So hopefully the offer sheet holds up and he ends up being a great Michigan FB.

Sure is taking Tim a while, though. Tsk tsk!

I think this guy is gonna be one of my favorites on the future teams. The name, the mike hart-esque low to the ground running and clobbering blocks. What's not to like?

The kid is quick and can catch the ball. A few good smack downs in his video as well. He might carry the ball more than the usual FB.

Welcome aboard, Sione Houma!

Welcome aboard, Sione! Good to have a bruiser in the backfield.

I'm thinking this young man is a gem that snuck past the recruiting gurus due to geography. Let's face it, you don't get press and coverage by playing your HS ball in Utah, regardless of your performance.

Bring on "The Brute From Ute" !

Welcome! Gonna need him if we want to execute that power play Hoke is always talking about. So we got probably 6 spots left. How do y'all see that shaking out? I personally really want 2 true DTs.

to use one of Brian's analogies, I feel we could use more lottery tickets at some of these other positions. Wayne Morgan/ Sevon Pittman/ Shittu/O'Brien are more valuable in a football sense than a scholarship fullback

In baseball terms, the Value-Over-Walk-On (instead of VORP) is waaaay higher for almost any position than fullback

I hear you guys but what Hoke must love about Sione is his toughness. I think he is a perfect example of the style of football Brady wants in all three phases. Mattison also said in one interview that before he's done, the trademark of our defense will be that we will pound and physically punish our opponents.

Plus, like someone else said, signing a guy like this could help us land Dunn.

If you're a stud defensive recruit, like Pipkens or Obrien, and you want to play for Mattison, you might not have the luxury this year of taking all your officials.

Steve Mariucci used to say in his Ford commercials, "We're building something good here."

He talked about it...Hoke (and Schwartz) is doing it.

I know a lot of people won't read this given that it is two pages deep in a two day old post but I couldn't go without mentioning it since I read through the rest of the posts and didn't see it mentioned.

According to his tape Sione was (will be) a kick returner for his high school team. I agree that he may be a bit under the radar but for someone who is projected to be a fullback at the college level to have the athletic ability to be a kick returner impresses me. Given I know that he is a bit undersized for your average fullback right now but I'm going to take this opportunity to trust the coaches on this one.

Either way he is now a Wolverine and I look forward to watching him through out his career.

Go Blue!
