Big Ten Media Days: Call For Questions Comment Count

Like this, but in a suit. And at a podium. And with other Big Ten coaches and players as well. So basically not like this at all. Sorry.

Since yours truly will be at Big Ten Media Days on Thursday and Friday, time to crowdsource some questions. Those of Michigan players (Denard Robinson, Kevin Koger, and Mike Martin), and coach Brady Hoke are most likely to be asked, but if you have things for other players/coaches that are interesting enough, I may get a chance to ask them at Friday's roundtables.

So, if you have a pressing question (WHEN U SCORED TOUCHDOWN HOW U FEEL?), drop it in the comments here, and I'll ask some of the best ones. You have a couple days to give it your best shot.

Are the players looking forward to playing under the lights? What's the general consensus about that nature of that game?

How does Denard feel like he's adjusting with the new offensive scheme?

Mike Martin: Aside from formation changes, has he (and/or other defensive players) noticed a difference in the way this defensive coaching staff is going about business?

How many touchdowns has Denard scored with himself in NCAA 12?

Is Denard looking forward to seeing himself on the all new, 113% larger scoreboards?

Why only one defensive tackle recruit? (ie, how do you see the roster shaping up to cover what seems like an undermanned position that requires a good rotation and significant time in the weight room to prepare for)

Why do Jake Ryan and Terrence Talbott have the same number?

As some people above have asked, what's up w/ Christian Pace and Kellen Jones?

Are you going to pursue a scholarship fullback or quarterback (beyond those who have already been offered)?

When do you think Michigan will win its next Big Ten Championship?

National championship?

Flavored crust or plain?

Do you iron your T-shirts?

Smoke cigars?

Did the movie Apocolyto kinda freak you out?  What about Black Swan?  Weird huh?

What piece are you in Monopoly.

Also, just a little football talk.

Do you think Rich Rod will get that fourth year?

Mattison:

  1. What defensive schemes will you be using?
  2. How long will it take to implement these schemes?
  3. How much is your current player personnel affecting the schemes you will use?
  4. What is the state of the defensive secondary?
  5. Will you use anything that you ran while with the Ravens?

Just what the hell is it you've been pointing at on the field all this time?

-and-

Question 2: Coach, you went 34-38  over 6 years at Ball State and 13-12 over 2 years at San Diego State.  Why should UM fans believe that your performance will be dramatically better at Michigan?

Q - With a defense coming off one of the worst years in the program's history how do you go about re-evaluating the talent on the team as far as positions and starting jobs? Furthermore, if a player was playing at a particular position under the previous staff how easy/hard is it to switch them to a new position/scheme?

Q - Does the losing streak against our biggest rivals (MSU & OSU) add presure to beating them ASAP, or do you consider the score 0-0 at this point?

Q - Have any previous coaches come out and given you any advice for what's about to come (being the head coach of Michigan) - if so what was that advice?

I have two questions for David Brandon:

1.  Will Michigan continue to schedule Notre Dame as its annual home-and-home non-conference opponent?  Or will the Wolverines look at other major BCS schools for future home-and-home series?  Ask him specifically about 2018/19--that is when the UM-ND series takes a break.  Also ask him what he thinks will be the impact of a nine-game conference schedule on Michigan's non-conference scheduling?

2.  Does he foresee any scenario where the Big Ten could expand to a 14- or 16-team conference that doesn't include Notre Dame?  In concert with that question, ask him about the impact the Big Ten Network would have on any conference expansion.

how many check downs Denard will have afore being advised to take off and run.

How many miles of sewer would you be willing to crawl through if you didn't have to sit here answering stupid questions today?

Otherwise, If it wasn't already asked,

WHEN U SCORED MICHIGAN JOB HOW U FEEL?

now that sdsu's sandifer is injured for the season, the leading receiver coming back had only 5 catches last season.  while lindey is a great qb will this allow the defense to key in on the running game and try and shut down hillman or are you still worried about getting lit up through the air?

Q:  "Coach Hoke, have you ever made an awful, uninformed prediction? For example, I'm thinking something along the lines of predicting that, say, Brady Hoke will NEVER be Michigan's next head coach, that if Brady Hoke were named to that post he'd lose half of the existing roster to attrition, and that, to compound matters, Brady Hoke would fail miserably in recruiting his own true first class of Wolverines?"

also:

Q:  "Gaudy statistics compiled against weaker opponents or conference wins?  Please choose."

I would like, if possible, to get some explanation of recruiting numbers, as in how they figure to have 25ish spots available. Are they for example specifically anticipating several more transfers related to the coaching/scheme change?

and was banned for this opinion :

Michigan has been in the lead for potential 5 star recruit Jordan Diamond for some time now, not to mention his mother just adores the university and is always looking for an excuse to visit. Michigan has obviously been spoiled by the riches of talented OL commits from the class of 2012, and if Jordan D is not afraid of competition then I don't see him wavering.

nOsu still has the uncertainty of the future coach to deal with and a number of pundits seem to believe that Coach Fecal will not be the guy, as he represents an era of great shame not unlike Michigan's Fab 5 or stretchgate. I don't know how nOsu escaped the failure to monitor charge, but that's some decent acting I gotta admit. November 26 can't come soon enough...
