Kickoff and punt returns

Submitted by WolverineHistorian on

I made this video out of boredom and I'm too lazy to check but there might be several others like this already on YouTube.

If not, here are some classic punt returns and kickoff returns for scores from over the years.  A few are ones you have no doubt seen hundreds of times (Woodson, Howard) but there are some less talked about ones as well.  There's about a dozen more classics out there but these are the only ones I had copies of right now.

P.S.  Can someone kindly explain to me why I can only embed a video if I reply to a thread but not if I start a thread?  I've been meaning to ask this for a while now.

I loved watching those Breaston clips.   What a luxury to have him returning kickoffs and punts for 4 years.   I just watched the '79 UM-OSU game, and Breaston's electricity on KO's was so similar to Anthony Carter's.

I also love comparing pix of Breaston as a FR versus a 5th-year SR.   Amazing body transformation.   When he first set foot on campus, I envisioned him getting split in half while returning kicks (if someone caught him!).

Stonum (if applicable) and Odoms will probably get some returns, but I'm interested to see if Hayes gets any opportunity. I'd love for Rawls to be a great back and Hayes a great returner.

And on the video, Tyrone Wheatley's return seemed way too easy. Did Houston have like 4 guys on the field? It's also depressing to look at some of those scoreboards.. Miss those days

Man, i just wish Hayes would redshirt.  I don't see Odoms shouldn't be the punt returner, plenty of experience and he looked good in the past.  Why not Hemingway on kick returns? I would love for those two, as they're both seniors and have looked solid doing it in the past
