OT: NCAA 12 Dynasty (Xbox 360)

Submitted by Gopherine on

I will be creating an online dynasty for MGoUsers on the Xbox 360. The dynasty will be Big Ten only. That means all conference games (including the Big Ten championship) will be against other users, while all non-conference games and bowls will be against the CPU.

Other details:

1. The dynasty will begin as soon as we 12 users and have updated rosters (the last few years updated user generated rosters have been available within a couple of days after release).

2. Heisman Difficulty, 8 minute quarters

3. Once we reach the conference schedule, we will attempt to advance a week every 48 hours.

4. No resets. If you are forced to reset because of a bad connection, e-mail me to let me know. If resets by a user become habitual, they will be booted from the dynasty.

5. Signing up and picking teams. Sign up by posting your Gamertag here, then e-mail me at [email protected] with 1) your Gamertag, and 2) your choice ranking of all twelve Big Ten teams. Teams will be chosen based on rankings, with equal rankings resolved randomly. For example, if User1, User2, and User3 ranked their choices as follows:

User1: Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Penn State, Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue.

User2: Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Penn State, Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue.

User3: Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Penn State, Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue.

Then Nebraska would go to User3, and Michigan would be determined by a coin flip between User1 and User2, with the loser getting Iowa (because Nebraska went to User3 as his first choice) .

For the sake of process transparency, I will post my rankings. Everyone else should e-mail their rankings to me to avoid having others game their lists.

My rankings: 1. Nebraska, 2. Michigan State, 3. Wisconsin, 4. Iowa, 5. Michigan, 6. Northwestern, 7. Minnesota, 8. Penn State, 9.Illinois, 10. Indiana, 11. Purdue, 12. Ohio State.

How long of a Dynasty are you looking to have?  I was just curious I really enjoy all the recruting and the behind the scene stuff in the game as well.  Is your plan for us to play multiple seasons or just one?

We will keep it going as long as possible. That requires a critical mass to remain interested, which in turn requires that we keep progressing at a steady pace. My experience with these dynasties is that they die when too much time is allowed between games. I hope to stem that here by pushing to complete games every 48 hours.

I just got a new XBOX and NCAA '12... I'd be interested.  Any drawbacks or negatives I may not see going in?  I never got into online gaming a ton, but I love NCAA and now that I have the new system I'm thinking it's the way to go.

Any advice, in general?

If you don't expect to get on almost every day and have a few hours to spare, I wouldn't recommend jumping into online dynasties as most will (at least in the beginning) try to keep the seasons running quickly to avoid attrition.

If you just got your Xbox and are playing NCAA for the first time I would recommend just playing around with the game for a couple weeks, exploring the features and getting a good feel for the game before jumping into the online dynasty. Get as much enjoyment as you can out of the game, I have been buying it for the past 7 years and love it more and more every year.

Everyone so far is accounted for. We are up to 10 users. 2 more and we'll be set.

(Even after we get 2 more, feel free to keep posting. We may have people back out/not show, and if there is enough interest it is likely that someone else will start a second dynasty)

Is anybody going to start off as a coordinator?  Also, is there a risk of getting canned while head coach if you had to use Indiana as your team?  I'm just wondering how that would affect the online dynasty.  I would check this myself but Amazon has yet to ship the game.  Possible delivery date of July 18th...wtf!?

Gamertag Puppa SFW.

I'd be done for any kind of serious dynasty, if the OP still has any spots open I'd take Michigan,  PSU, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, MSU,tOSU, Northwestern, Illinois in that order.

If not I'm down to join another.

If you're interested in a second Big Ten dynasty with all the same rules as the OP, but 2 advances per week! Let me know. Sorry for the double post.
