ESPN Tradition Finals: Bot War II

The finals have already become a battle of the bots.  This is just the second day of voting and there are already more than 7million votes.  FSU currently is winning by about 4%.  We will need some heavy botting to pull this one out, but FSU should be no match for Michigan's superior computer knowledge.

And don't forget:  Bot early, bot often

so you're saying my one vote doesn't make that much of a difference?

It's rather depressing - I've always been told that every vote matters.

Ah, the intrigue of it all! Is the huskers9 bot legit, or an insidious plot to sabotage the Maize and Blue cause?

Hard to say, but someone with some free time and a knowledge of internet protocols could run a packet sniffer (like Wireshark) while the bot is going to verify what it is actually putting out on the wire. This would be a more reliable confirmation than source code, since it would be difficult to verify whether any supplied source code actually matched the distributed executable.

Tied at 50-50 with over 22 million votes.  Lets go bots!!!!  I want me some NCAA '12 despite not having one of those newfangled gaming systems.  My N64 and PS2 work well, but I'm sure one my friends would let me use theirs to play it.

Doesn't matter if you believe me or not anymore, since we hit the max on the poll and it stopped counting.

Amused, but kinda sad cause the nebraska poll was only an hour away, we could've gotten there last week If I'd have released my bot earlier.

Haha I didn't notice that.  So who wins?  Or does no one win? Is it ike in elementary school where they catch you cheating so no one wins the ie cream party, and everyone has to sit in the dark classroom thinking about what you did?

If you were helping us out, thanks for supporting your fellow big ten-ers.  While we may hate each other during the season, what's good for one is good for the conference.

well considering it was 50/50 for an hour before it stopped and michigan was gaining the whole time.  If I had to bet money on who wins, it'd be you guys.  That'd be a fairly confident bet, considering the momentum in the poll.  Really though, who knows.  It could not have ended better as far as I am concerned.  Fun competitions, Alex Rogan'd the game while it was a tie, it has been a blast.

I think I may have mistakenly taken the poll offline. I realized that after I started to run my mod to the poll that I had mistakenly used bad source code. Essentially I believe my mod was attempting to force the poll backwards for FSU (ie a vote for them leaves them with one LESS vote), I thought it would be easier but it appears that ESPN has some sort of fail safe. Probably my bad!

<br>PS-I hope we win and I will keep trying to help.
