Dee Hart (YTDH) Tears ACL

Submitted by Dreisbach1817 on

I felt very sad to hear this news.  Hope this kid is able to fully recover.  Best wishes to Dee and his family.

Right now it's alot of twitter buzz, but no official word just yet.  I hope this is similar to the "Taylor Martinez is leaving Nebraska" twitter rampage.  But this might have some teeth.

EDIT: Confirmed by TomVH

That's a shame. I wish him a quick recovery and good luck in the future at Alabama. I would assume he would keep his scholarship even if injured but who knows in the Land of Saban....

WHO CARES? You guys have a weird infatuation with Dee Hart, former Michigan recruit.  Until 2012 when we play Alabama who the hell cares what happens with Dee Hart- let Saban worry about it.

I'm a college football fan.  What law says I'm only allowed to care about what happens to kids that play for Michigan?

You're commenting on a blog dedicated to college football.  Your priorities are as fucked up as mine are.  Now we're just haggling over price.

I'm commenting on a blog dedicated to the Michigan Wolverines, my school and my team.  The reason why I'm on this site is because I don't give a damn about other teams and especially their players.  As a human, I don't want to see anyone get hurt and I wish him the best, but I care about Dee Hart as much as a care about any other player on another team.  That's completely different than you and your weird Dee Hart fetish.

EDIT:  And I wasn't talking about your priorities- I just said you should care about more things if you care about this.

Thinking it sucks that a former Michigan recruit tore his ACL does not equate to having a fetish.  I love the idea that "being interested in Michigan football" is a totally valid use of time in your eyes, but caring about any other aspect of college football is a sign of misplaced priorities.

When the news about Austin Hatch broke, a number of non-Michigan message boards and blogs had posts and comments about how tragic it was. Did those people also have a fetish?

This is tribalism taken to an absurd degree.

A plane crash is hardly the same thing as a fairly common football injury.  If Dee Hart never plays another down he's not fighting for his life right now and has a bright future to look forward to. That comparison is ridiculous.

If this really is you caring about college football in general why don't we just post every college football injury on the board so we can all care about it equally?  Oh yeah, this is a blog about Michigan....and Dee Hart doesn't play for Michigan.... that's why we don't do it....it's all making sense now.

EDIT:  And I might add he never has and never will play a down for Michigan.  He's just a kid that thought about going to school here and didn't.

or any other huge college football recruit, tears his ACL and people want to post about it, I'll gladly read it.

I don't understand your position.  Is this just the "I only care about players who play for Michigan" nonsense?  I'm not even allowed to be marginally interested in guys who almost came to Michigan anymore, simply because they chose another school?

OK let me try explaining to you guys why 2+2= 4 one more time.

THIS is a "Michigan Sports Blog"

Dee Hart does not play for Michigan.  Thus, Dee Hart plays on a team that's Not Michigan.

Because he plays for Not Michigan, it's unnecessary to update said "Michigan Sports Blog" on what happens to said player who plays for Not Michigan because it has no bearing or effect on Michigan, the school from which this blog is focused.

If said player happened to be in a life-threatening accident, I would hope any life- respecting human being would be concerned for his well being.** Since this is not the case, it's unnecessary to be updated on said player who plays for Not Michigan because he has never, and will never play for Michigan, and therefore has no bearing on Michigan, the school from which this blog is focused.

** I can't believe I had to even explain this part.

Is it beyond your comprehension that this isn't my only user name and/or I didn't post for the first couple years I was checking this site regularly?  I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.  I'm not saying, I'm sayin.

ALSO:  Go back and look at my posts- I made this username during the RR apocalypse (which btw was the best month ever on MGoBlog)  I'm a die-hard for this school but sometimes I have a laugh at YA'LLs expense- even if it's just to myself.  Look at my username, ya dingus.

There was a post a few days ago about how Donavan Tate (former Michigan recruit who signed with the Padres after being the 3rd overall pick in the MLB draft) got suspended for 50 games for violating the league substance abuse policy.  I saw the title and went "oh, I remember Donavan Tate" and read the thread with a bit of interest, because he was a guy Michigan used to go after.

I don't see the problem with that.  It's a monday night in early July.  It's not like this thread is distracting people from pressing and exciting news about the football program.

but the person I'm responding to didn't make any distinction based on magnitude.  He or she just said "Until 2012 when we play Alabama who the hell cares what happens with Dee Hart."  I think that's a myopic view of the world.

Simply said I don't understand why you think it's so ridiculous that some Michigan fans do care that Dee Hart tore his ACL. I don't see anyone rending garments and weeping or anything. I see lots of people saying "man, that sucks," which seems totally reasonable to me. Not sure why you got so hot and bothered that someone posted the news in the first place.

I'm not hot and bothered at all, I'm drinking a beer with my shirt off admiring my handsomeness.

For the life of me I can't understand why people have and still talk about Dee Hart.

Let me put it this way:

This really hot girl might've made out with you at the bar that one night a while ago, but she didn't come home with you, and she's sure as hell not calling you back. Time to move on.

I don't care about Dee Hart because I'm really upset that he's not at Michigan.  I care about Dee Hart because he's a name that used to appear around here all the time and I like knowing what happens to people whose names I used to hear.  Same reason I care (just a bit) what happened to Donavan Tate or Cameron Colvin or any other former Michigan recruit.

Yeah I could but now I'm all hot and bothered with my shirt off drinking beer.  This is more fun anyway.  And you're wrong.  I'm the MGoVillain, is this coming as a surprise to you?  Also you look a lot like Dave Brandon, has anyone ever told you that?

OK guys you win lets talk about Dee Hart.  Maybe we could all pitch in for a bus and go down to Tuscaloosa to have a group prayer with Dee.

All kidding aside, Dee Hart is the man.  He had dreads right? Do any of our recruits have dreads anymore? WTF IS GOING oN HERE???

Seriously though, go ahead and talk about Dee Hart, I'll step out of the way and go look in the mirror for a while.

No joke, I have a nice mirror.

Seriously this time, have fun guys, it's been real- forgive me tomorrow? I still love you.

ALSO:  try eating an Avocado raw, maybe with a little salt but not too much.  Get your MGoHealth on because that shit's delicious.

Those are some pretty sweet cans.  I'm on a tall boy of some Blue Light right now (terribly un-'merican I know).  You should get some sour cream dip to go with those veggies.  Good late night snack.  In hindsight, this has been pretty enjoyable.  I'm gonna watch some ESPN and go to bed.  Night.

Who anointed you Brian Cook's fluffer boy?

Oh and you're right, it's ridiculous to think that things actually pertaining to Michigan would be posted on a Michigan sports blog.  Thanks for paying attention.

Brian Cook's not King Michigan.  If you have an opinion you can say it, but don't defer to Brian rather than actually saying something.
