Wide Receiver Prospect
I came across Ohio WR Monty Madaris on the Scout free board. We have not offered him but he looks good in the highlights below. Size, hands, moves, speed... a lot to like. Not sure if he is on our radar but he sure looks worth an offer, particularly if things don't work out with Burbridge's achademics. Check it out:
Decent not sure if the 4.5 speed is for real Only saw him get deep once the rest were crossing patterns and quick screens.. I could see him being a walk on .. Not sure if he warrants a scholarship
The 4.5 does seem a little fast after watching the video. He has good top end speed, but it takes awhile for him to accelerate. If UM declined to offer, that might be why.
He's got some good moves though, quite elusive, just not explosive.
I could see him turning down offers from FSU, NEB, MSU & OSU to walk-on to UM.

I rented and watched Batman (1989) last night.
He's actually blown up a bit recently. Although none of his profiles say so, he has a Florida State offer or is at least on the verge of one. Ohio State is reportedly getting ready to offer as well.
247 Sports confirms the FSU offer along with Nebraska, Sparty and others.
Scouting Ohio claims a 4.4 estimated 40 time (4 fakes?) and a 11.7 100m; looks like a long strider = deceptively fast.
An 11.7 is not a fast 100 time. And it's very rare for someone to run a "4.4" and not have it translate to a fast 100.
Typo - should read 10.7 for 100m
That's 5 FAKES out of 5. That would have been good for a tie for 8th at the past NFL combine, or about as fast as Prince Amukamara.
From what I've heard, MSU is really really high on him and they really want him. He seems to have a lot of mutual interest as well. If we were to steal him (I have a feeling we probably couldn't, but it's just a feeling and I'm no insider or anything) then I think we would need to offer him now and really push hard for him.
I have heard he is also pretty high on MSU, but Nebraska as well. I cannot confirm this to still be true because it was just a small piece on an online article I read a couple months ago, but maybe things have changed from then until now?
Scuttlebutt is that the coaches looked in to offering and elected to pass.

by far the best part about that highlight video is the play starting at 49 seconds because you can hear an opposing fan get all excited because they think they have him in the backfield but then when he reverses field he screams "OH COME ON!" "NOOOO!"
i thought it was pretty damned funny.
He may not be a burner, but he sees the field very well! I don't think he will end up in our class, but he will be an asset to whatever team he plays for. I'm comfortable with us not being in it for his services, because from what I've seen, our recruiting is in very capable hands! Hope we don't have to face him once he truly matures!
I think a scholarship maybe given to him if Michigan knows for sure they are out of contention with Stanford and Payton, and if Burbridge does not get his grades up, or decides for MSU.
