They hadn't talked to anyone, so don't believe the rumors, and be patient. But I guess the "be patient" rather than "don't get your hopes up" sounded a bit too optimistic, and it's just better to wait and see. As always, Tom striving to do the right thing, and let a kid have his moment, whatever he decides.
That's my guess as well. He probably figured that his phrasing would lead people to draw conclusions that he didn't want to be drawn at this juncture. I hope the recruits appreciate how careful he is with information that they give him, and understand just how different he is from those reporters willing to break confidence in order to "scoop" everyone on commitments and the like (lookin' at you, Dayton Daily News).
Can only guess by not saying anything he thought he was saying too much. I was just impressed we were getting 24/7 service from him anyway, so no hard feeling. I'm with him; better safe than sorry.
Yeah, I fully support any sensitive information being deleted. Tom knows what he's doing, and we can all be patient and let everything play out.
I was questioning my memory too; I think there was another post that was deleted too. But it really makes you wonder when a post isn't OT/flamebait, and it suddenly disappears. It's strange, but we can probably figure out why. Though it's not just your imagination.
