"A Michigan State University medical student, Andrew David Thompson, allegedly killed 10 dogs and gravely neglected another.  Thompson was charged with 10 felony counts of animal killing, and another misdemeanor count of animal cruelty on Monday. He faces more than 4 years in prison if convicted.

Thompson was a student at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine until he was suspended a week ago in response to the charges."

Do we even need a trial? Look at the pic - the kid just screams of crazy. A lot like the one that shot Congresswoman Giffords in AZ. Spare the time and expense, cuz it's pretty certain the cops found their guy . . .

That is disgusting--I went to that medical school and lived in that apartment complex at one point after graduating from Michigan. I can't imagine what they found there.

In my opinion 4 years is WAY to short of a jail sentence for this idiot.  10 dogs deserves at least 1 year each, so 10 years should be the lowest possible sentence he should get.  Some people may say I am to harsh on this, but based on his actions to dogs who are in many cases used for health purposes for people who are not 100% healthy, as well as a social component to us should be taken into consideration.  He may have also been practicing illegally without a license, so that should also be taken into consideration.

Michael Vick I believe got 2 years, but he should have had another year or two because he did not only kill the 3-4 dogs, but he also went against what the law said and faught the dogs.  Truly mentally ill people.

Michigan State is actually known very well for their programs related to animals (Zoology, Wildlife Biology, Vet Tech, etc).  I have worked with many of these people and they have a strong respect for animals.  This one individual is the exception, and hopefully he will never get into a grad school where he may end up working with any animals.

I think you might have missed the boat there.  He is a med student, from the infamous MSU osteo program.  Osteo is not a vet.  It's a D.O. who treats real live people.

piece of shit. Really wish the laws were a little tougher on this kind of thing. Since 4 years is the maximum he will probally on get about 2 years.  Not comfortable with a sick piece of crap like this being back on the streets in 2 years. Seems like a future serial killer waiting to happen.

As far as the poster who posted about Michael Vick and an alleged double standard,  I hate Vick's guts as well and feel that he should have spent some more time in prison l. I am sure there are alot of people out there who have the same opinion.

The look on his face immediately made me think of this...

"I have all the characteristics of a human being: blood, flesh, skin, hair; but not a single, clear, identifiable emotion, except for greed and disgust. Something horrible is happening inside of me and I don't know why. My nightly bloodlust has overflown into my days. I feel lethal, on the verge of frenzy. I think my mask of sanity is about to slip."

On his way to becoming a serial killer. Just look at Dahmers history with animals when he was young. His med school training is just making him a efficient killer. I just hope the system don't forget about him after he is released from prison.

People who torture and kill animals are the lowest form of life.  How anyone could derive enjoyment out of killing something as defenseless as an Italian Greyhound is beyond me.  Four years is far too short for someone like this.  IMO anyone who could commit such an act has no business in our society.  Yes, that include Michael Vick, for the smart asses in the crowd.  At the very least anyone convicted of such a crime should have to go door to door and tell everyone in the neghborhood what they have done once released.   The same way pedophiles have to do.

Just a disgusting act, and I hope the punishment he receives is to the fullest extent of the law, provided he is found guilty (and based on the limited facts provided, it seems like  slam dunk).  I know people perform horrible tests on animals, including dogs, for medical testing, and anyone who eats a hamburger or chicken patty realizes that was a living creature, but to kill and neglect animals that you ostensibly adopted to care for, and who rely on you for survival, is horrible.  If these charges bear out, then perhaps we've all saved ourselves from a sociopath who might move up to hurting people.

There's a special place in hell for people like this. FYI, Cheeseface, the subject of the iconic magazine cover that serves as my avatar, was tracked down and killed at the farm where he lived. This happend like 3 years after the magazine & they never caught the perp.

Sick bastards...
