TomVH: Weekend Visitor List

Submitted by TomVH on

This is the weekend of offensive linemen for visits. Here's who I've confirmed:

  • Illinois OL Jordan Diamond: I already reported that he took a quick visit before the Sound Mind Sound Body camp to Ann Arbor. He'll be making his way up to MSU and then probably back to Michigan one more time before they head home.
  • Texas OL Trey Keenan: Had always planned on making it up to Michigan over the summer. I spoke with him awhile back, you can read it here.
  • Tennessee OL Blake Bars: Originally from Michigan.
  • Arizona OL Andrus Peat: He'll be in on Sunday, also heading to Notre Dame.
  • Pennsylvania OL Chris Muller: Has Penn State as his leader, and Penn State fans were surprised he didn't publicly commit to them on his recent visit.
  • Ohio WR Dwayne Stanford: The non offensive lineman that's visiting. I spoke with Dwayne a few days ago about the upcoming trip. His teammate Adolphus Washington will not be on the visit with him.

Camp starts on June 19th and runs to the 23rd. I've confirmed some campers already, but I'll hold off on those until it gets closer to Sunday.

We might need to add one more to this list, and it's a big one...

Army All-American DT Tommy Schutt 6'3 300 lbs. will visit Michigan this weekend according to Cal Golden Blogs, he's a 5-star on Scout and a 4-star on Rivals. Beast of a player.

Tom, have you heard from Tommy yet?

Have a good one fellas...

With all the OL visitors above, you can see how that position is still a priority for the coaches - I imagine they are still looking for 5-6 from this class in total.

I wonder what our chances of picking up a commitment today are?  I'm feeling greedy.

The only one who I think would even remotely commit this weekend is Jordan Diamond though I haven't heard of Blake Bars.

And who knows, I now believe that Hoke can do anything.

Blake Bars goes to the same high school as a buddy of mine (it's the high school from Dead Poet's Society).  He's not in the Rivals 250, but he's a 4star with offers from Florida, LSU, Clemson and PSU.  So he's no slouch at all.

That Muller lad is pretty similar to Bars in recruitment-site coverage: both 4 stars on Rivals, both with some offers from very decent schools, both three stars on scout...and I believe, if you look at what ESPN says on the subject of each, the descriptions are...identicle. Virtual cut and paste, at least for what non-insiders are allowed to see.
