TomVH: Weekend Visitor List
This is the weekend of offensive linemen for visits. Here's who I've confirmed:
- Illinois OL Jordan Diamond: I already reported that he took a quick visit before the Sound Mind Sound Body camp to Ann Arbor. He'll be making his way up to MSU and then probably back to Michigan one more time before they head home.
- Texas OL Trey Keenan: Had always planned on making it up to Michigan over the summer. I spoke with him awhile back, you can read it here.
- Tennessee OL Blake Bars: Originally from Michigan.
- Arizona OL Andrus Peat: He'll be in on Sunday, also heading to Notre Dame.
- Pennsylvania OL Chris Muller: Has Penn State as his leader, and Penn State fans were surprised he didn't publicly commit to them on his recent visit.
- Ohio WR Dwayne Stanford: The non offensive lineman that's visiting. I spoke with Dwayne a few days ago about the upcoming trip. His teammate Adolphus Washington will not be on the visit with him.
Camp starts on June 19th and runs to the 23rd. I've confirmed some campers already, but I'll hold off on those until it gets closer to Sunday.
yes please. Any further word on Olsen?
Always leaves them wanting more.
Well, he did put the link there..
I completely missed that, and am actually interested to read it. Thanks.
We might need to add one more to this list, and it's a big one...
Army All-American DT Tommy Schutt 6'3 300 lbs. will visit Michigan this weekend according to Cal Golden Blogs, he's a 5-star on Scout and a 4-star on Rivals. Beast of a player.
Link: http://sbn.to/jbbXPd - Already put it on my twitter...
Tom, have you heard from Tommy yet?
Have a good one fellas...
There you have it, never trust a Cal Bear...
I think we just offered Jason Croom from Georgia.
national power Sparty has already offered him. Oh well. Seriously though, he'd be a good receiver for us. The kid is tall and solidly built. Gotta love rugged receivers that can throw a real block.
.
yes
.
OM NOM NOM OLs
Tom,
Do you know of any commits making it down for a visit this weekend?
Thanks.
RJS tweeted he will be there this weekend trying to recruit
Dude is my hero for the week.
With all the OL visitors above, you can see how that position is still a priority for the coaches - I imagine they are still looking for 5-6 from this class in total.
I wonder what our chances of picking up a commitment today are? I'm feeling greedy.
The only one who I think would even remotely commit this weekend is Jordan Diamond though I haven't heard of Blake Bars.
And who knows, I now believe that Hoke can do anything.
Blake Bars goes to the same high school as a buddy of mine (it's the high school from Dead Poet's Society). He's not in the Rivals 250, but he's a 4star with offers from Florida, LSU, Clemson and PSU. So he's no slouch at all.
That Muller lad is pretty similar to Bars in recruitment-site coverage: both 4 stars on Rivals, both with some offers from very decent schools, both three stars on scout...and I believe, if you look at what ESPN says on the subject of each, the descriptions are...identicle. Virtual cut and paste, at least for what non-insiders are allowed to see.
1 : being the same, popsicle
2: having such close resemblance as to be essentially the same popsicle
3: having the same popsicle cause or origin
I met a couple guys last year at Michigan who went to the high school from Remember the Titans and one who went to Eden Hall in Minnesota (from Mighty Ducks 3). I wish my high school was famous for some movie..
Not if your HS was in the movie Wildcats with Goldie Hawn.
Sad but true.
all my high school got was the shitty Jumper movie
The guy from MN lied to you because Eden Hall is not a real high school. It is a ficticous combination of Eden Prairie and Cretin-Derham Hall.
He actually told me that and that he went to Eden Prairie, but as I was writing that, I completely blanked on the two names so I decided to be cool and say it anyways. I lost.
Sorry, I felt it was my civic duty as a member of the MGoCommunity to call you out
Cretin Durham Hall is the private school, not Eden Prairie, so it is a stretch to say Eden Prairie was part of that at all.
I hate both those schools. Trojanz 4 lyfe
My high school was in that movie "Jumper". I know not a great movie but GO RATS anyway!!
woohoo huron baby!
go river rats!
A kid I met at orientation 2 years ago went to Laguna Beach High School, the one that they filmed the MTV show on.
Ann Arbor Huron had 2 MADEs filmed there..
ruined my friggin prom haha
Bet you wish you'd gone to Ridgemount High and you some fast times!
I know something about you, you went to Cranbrook, that's a private school.
the guy's a gangsta but his real name's Clarence
and Clarence lives at home with both parents
and Clarence's parents have a real good marriage
Seriously what kind of mascot is a crane?
East Great Falls Trailblazers = East Grand Rapids Pioneers.
I don't know how I feel about my HS being the inspiration for the American Pie series, written by Adam Herz, EGRHS Class of 1991.
Thought it was filmed at a prep school in Delaware. Was it based on a school in TN?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Poets_Society
Blake Bars' school is what the writers' story was based on, but was actually filmed in Delaware....only reason I know this is that I used to live in Delaware and people I knew there would bring it up whenever it was on TV.
As a Nashvillian, I can offer a fun fact about Montgomery Bell Academy: It's an all-boys school, but less than 2% of students in Nashville attend MBA. Incidentally, more than 98% of Nashvillians refer to MBA as "Momma's Boys Academy."
I calls 'em like I sees 'em. Now where's my Sauvignon Blanc to go with this aged Gruyere?
Please Hoke, get them to commit.
Scout listed seven prospects in for the weekend. Any idea who the mysterious seventh visitor is?
I wonder if they hadn't caught notice that Adolphus isn't making the trip up? That would explain why they have seven listed.
Sam said on his recruiting round-up this morning that Washington isn't visiting because of an AAU conflict. So Scout is aware that he isn't coming.
Stoopid AAU. But makes me feel better in that he's just not blowing UM off.
