More news from the fall of OSU. A 2011 commit Ejuan Price a Scout 4* Rivals 3* LB wants out.

"He just didn't feel any stability there even before [Jim] Tressel resigned," Novak said.

Iowa mentioned as a landing spot.

They also lost their supposed 2012 4* scout WR from GA.

From 11W:

JaQuay Williams is not a Buckeye. Sandy Greek (GA) WR JaQuay Williams made his announcement yesterday and the lifelong Buckeye fan chose Auburn over OSU. Yes, you read that right, Williams grew up his entire life as a Buckeye fan after growing up in the Pittsburgh area, but chose the Tigers due to their wide receiver coach, proximity to home, and the fact that he didn't feel as comfortable with Ohio State after Jim Tressel resigned.

The focus has been on the 2012 class and I hadn't heard anything about their 2011 commits. Wonder if more will follow suit. Lucky for them Miller was an EE.

The turmoil will keep the new ones from coming in and the temporary hold on all illegal funds will make those who are used to them transfer.  Not saying, of course, that any one specific player is taking money...

Word is that OSU is saving money on jerseys this season.  They are giving players an assortment of memorabilia to sign before the season starts.  The players are then expected to take said memorabilia to a local parlor of their choice and get full body tattoos of their jerseys in exchange for the signed memorabilia.

It'll be interesting to see if OSU lets him out of the LOI.  If OSU does let him leave, would he have to sit out a year since he hasn't entered school yet or could he go to a team and be eligible to play this year?

I don't remember what the specific's were for USC's punishments, but the NCAA was allowing "no sit out" transfers when their whole crap bag was spilled. I'm inclined to think they would allow that, and the B1G would be be a "lower court" ruling if they ruled otherwise. I don't claim to know a whole lot about NCAA rules, but it stands to reason, that's how it would be.

Seniors at USC were allowed to transfer without sitting out a year as part of their bowl ban. The guy above you was making the point that the B1G might have to clarify its rule about not giving scholarships to intra-conference transfers. Under normal circumstances, you can't transfer from one Big Ten school to another and receive scholarship money.

Boren paid his own way at OSU, or his family did. I believe in USC's case, juniors and seniors could transfer without sitting out, but couldn't get scholarship support from Pac 10 schools. Not sure if that was an NCAA or Pac 10 ruling, but it's likely one reason USC saw so few transfers.

I'm pretty sure it must have been a Pac ruling, I haven't heard of the NCAA getting involved in stuff like that.

Also, I think you're right about the juniors being able to transfer, since a two year bowl ban would leave them out in the cold for the rest of their college days.

I wasn't thinking about the scholarship rule inside the B1G. I would hope, for every player's sake, that they allow scholarships at other B1G schools. Again, I think that is fair, given the circumstances. Maybe they follow with only Jr/Sr scholarship players can so they have the opportunity to play in bowls if a 2 year ban is constituted. I don't think much will be done before actual punishment is handed down though. Delany's past actions lead me to believe he's not going to do much, however. 'Twill be a shame if those players aren't allowed to scholly at another B1G school.

Not completely sure, but I think the USC penalties had already been announced, which is why they were offering the no sit transfers. While I think anyone other than Buckeye fans and Colin Cowherd think OSU is going to wind up with the book thrown at them, until that happens, I would suspect it would be treated like every other transfer (like Steve Threet).

Tressel has ruined the rivalry for 20 years.  The last 10 are now entirely tainted and while I expect the next 10 will be lots of fun, it would probably have been more fun going 7-3 over a Tressel coached OSU than 9-1 or 10-0 over the shell that OSU football may become for awhile.

I'm tempted to call for caution (Remember Dann O'Neill's "this team is now EEEEEVIL", and the subsequent "no, your grades are just bad.")... But with this being a guy who hasn't even enrolled, it might be a decent barometer of what at least SOME recruits are thinking.

I was over at 11W the other day, though, and they see this whole ordeal as making the team better in the long run.  So... there's that?

I am obviously psyched for what I hope to be an exodus from OSU's current players.

I do, however, have one concern, albeit a VERY minor one:

I don't see many current buckeyes transferring to M (or Hoke wanting to even consider them), so the result might be that some of the other B10 teams - the Iowa, Wisco, PSU crowd - might get one or two pickups of OSU-level players which would otherwise have been out of their grasp.  Could give those teams a slight bump up, which is never a good thing when we play them.

As I said, this is a VERY minor concern, though, and it is FAR outweighed by my pure joy at seeing anything negative happen to the buckeyes.

IMO, I want every bit of talent possible in the B1G. I want all the media outlets to stop trashing our conference and stating that our top teams could only compete with the middle tier of the SEC. Hoping that talented players that don't sign with us go to another team outside our conference does nothing to help us as a team. We need to play against the best and win against the best. Nothing would give me more pleasure than to beat an undefeated Nebraska, MSU, and OSU every year. I miss the days of ruining the Buckeyes' perfect season.

OSU isn't obliged to let him go. Naturally, they probably will, it's bad form not to, but a pretty boilerplate part of that deal is that the kid can't transfer to a school in-conference. I'm not sure of every school which offered this kid, but he probably needs to look elsewhere for his home, if he really wants to go.

If the Bucks really did lose two commits today, a WR and a LB, it looks like the wheels really are about to come off their wagon. All of the Bucks supporters, and plenty of commentators were claiming it would not happen, but having two leave in a day could really put a ripple in the pond. I may have to swing by 11 Worriers later and check out the reactions in Buckeyeland just out of curiosity's sake. Indeed, the sky may be falling, but only in Columbus . . .
