USMNT v. Guadeloupe

I think Canada beat Panama, so that helps something or other.  Nevermind, Canada derped its way into a draw.

Do we have a chance for first in the group? By the way, the game is on fox soccer channel (channel 727 on Comcast in Ann Arbor if you have the Sports Entertainment Package).

us 1-0.  they are playing good but not great.  i think they look pretty sketchy in the back, and their finishing hasnt been there.  but hard to complain when they get something like 10+ shots in a half.

by Cherundolo,  Bradley, and Lichaj. The D needs to solidify and stop those easy through balls. Offensively we need to maintain ball control better and try to get easier oppurtunities for Wondo and Jozy. All in all though a very well put together first half for them.

Disclaimer:  I know absolutely nothing as far as soccer technique and strategy goes, but, I was impressed by Bedoya as well.  Just seemed like he had tons of hustle when everyone else was looking pretty apathetic.

If we do not win this outright I think the goat is pretty easy to pick out. Two outstanding chances that didn't come close to the goal and one failed chance that suggests he has no business playing competitive soccer on any level.

How is he still in the game?

Dempsey always acts like a hard ass. It makes me sick. I'm sorry but Soccer features the largest scoring orifice in the world and that guys misses the net WAY TOO MUCH for how hard he struts around the field.

Thought Donovan and Dempsey both looked sloppy this game. Donovan looked sloppy in every game of the tournament though. Passing wasn't crisp, too many crosses missed compared to normal. Perhaps he's still not over whatever he was sick with before the cup started?

Dempsey also didn't have his usual swagger this game. He didn't crack a smirk until he missed that last one. Just wasn't his night. Perhaps he's getting a bit of tired legs? Hopefully he can take it easy the next few days and get some juice back.

Really felt better with Bocanegra in the center and Lichaj on the left. It really solidified the center and offered some speed and aggression on the left. While I'd still like to see someone play better than Goodson, having Bocanegra in the middle made Goodson noticably better.

Dempsey had a rough game, and looked real bad last night, but he is one of our best players, and everyone has a bad game from time to time.   He is one of the best scorers we have ever had and the folks at Fulham seem to think he is pretty good, so lets hope he comes out strong, as well as Donovan next game.

At least when the US plays aggresive, they look like they can play with anyone.
