Is there a link to confirm that, or a reliable source?
I clicked on this thinking it would be Michigan and Oklahoma. It being Michigan AND INDIANA is a jaw-dropper.
His brother goes there, it's only about 40 miles from home, the new HC is the former Oklahoma OC and you can't forget that their new QB coach is our previous one.
commit there he wouldn't really compete with his brother either. Dusty is a redshirt sophomore so even if he started this year, or 2012 and 2013, gunner could learn under him for his freshman and sophomore seasons, or redshirt and start for 3 years and not force his brother out of the qb spot. At first I thought they would overlap more and ruled Indiana out but now it's not so crazy, even if the rumor is just that.
Was just wondering if the QB coach you were refering to was Scott Loefler? (I probably spelled his name incorrectly) Ive always been under the impression that he was a significant part of Michigan becoming QB U. If I recall correctly, he was very good at developing and recruiting QBs. Lets hope Kiel picks Michigan GO BLUE!!!!
Rod Smith, IIRC. Lefty went to FL last I heard.
Loeffler is the new OC at Temple if iam correct
This is my secondary recruiting/rooting interest outside of the Maize and Blue.
Nice pickup for them.
wat. That rumor had legs until you said "Indiana"
IndiWhat?!?!?
For a kid from Columbus, Indiana it isn't that shocking. Bloomington is less than an hour's drive from Columbus and is generally considered the school in Indiana where the "cool kids" want to go. And it's not like it's a bad school. Not Michigan quality but certainly he would get a good education there.
Being from Indiana, your statement is pretty much spot on.
Bloomington, which is full of foxes-way better than AA or EL. I was head tennis pro @ the top Resort between Bloomington and Columbus for 3 years during law school and summers. The drive is not bad and the women left this old guy with fond life long memories. So not so crazy w/ his bro there and the offense they are running.
By the way, the IU folks tell me Kiel is M bound.
Tom Beaver has said this for a few days. Take it FWIW based on how much credence you give him. I don't know his source but I have a real hard time believing this is true.
I'd be careful getting too excited about anything that's sourced exclusively by Tom Beaver. He does have good sources, but he's a bit excitable....
Yeah, I know. That's why I felt I should include the take it FWIW part. He could be right, he could be wrong, and I can feasibly see Kiel going to either school but a final two of UM and Indiana seems a little far-fetched.
Assuming this is true are we favorites here?
I would say we're one of his two favorites
Just wondering.
Nephew.
Here, let me google that for you (it's the first result)
Except now it's the second result.
I love that the first result for that google search is now this post.
...was intercepted by Donovan Warren too. It was a bad day for Lynch....
that really make the max score of 5 frustrating. I will upvote it, however, just so I can see the score pulse like it is growing more powerful. An even stronger 5, if you will.
NFL scouts were impressed with his 40 time after this run
He'd be a deity in Indiana if he stayed home. There's something to be said for being a big fish in a small pond.
That being said, if you asked me a few weeks ago to pick his final two, I would have said Oklahoma and Alabama, and I would have thought that those two were ahead by a comfortable margin. Goes to show what I know . . .
We're already putting together a really nice recruiting class though, and if he were to hop on board quickly, you'd think we'd really clean up on the rest of our class. He'd be a nice get.
He would be a deity, but he does not seem like the kind of kid who would want to be a deity. A lot of recruits absolutely love the spotlight and would cherish that opportunity (cough cough Pryor) but Kiel has been so quiet and humble that it seems like he would not want to be considered a "deity" at Indiana
Indiana for rills?
Should be an easy pick-up.
Didn't Tom VH already tell us that the family keeps things pretty close. How about you just wait till he announces? Wait........who am I kidding, it's the offseason!
They have a new coach who coached great qbs at oklahoma, this is not as big of a deal as everyones making it.
This is really difficult to believe. Sounds like B.S. If its true, it seems completely out of the Blue.
It's his home state, it's not that crazy.
Right, but all the talk for the last couple weeks was that Alabama and Oklahoma were the frontrunners and that Michigan had an outside shot. It seems like a 180 if he is actually down to Michigan and Indiana.
As a Purdue student and a Michigan fan, I will SHIT if he goes to IU
I advise that you shit either way. I take a good fiber supplement I'd be happy to recommend.
your colon.
As a human being and consumer of food, I shit daily.
Not sure if the IU vs. UM rumor is true, but there are other rumors about him wanting to stay close to home so its not that hard to believe
It's really cool if it's true, but when OU seemed like the front-runner for a long time, it seems odd to have eliminated them. I would buy this if it was a top three of M, IU and OU.
This can't be true, Tom said don't get to excited about the Kiel rumors......please be true, please be true!... TOMV, WHERE ARE YOU!?
He's probably hiding out in the reality wing of MGoBlog.
I credit you with the rare Underrated recognition.
and say the #1 QB in the country isn't going to a program that will win 3 games next year...
Who was that RB a few years back that was a top 10 overall recruit on Rivals that went to CU to be with his cousin or nephew?
he was a massive, massive bust.
Darrell Scott from California? He transferred to USF after his second year at Colorado and is probably going to start this year. He should destroy the Big East; had a great spring.
They've lost a few of the new coaches, but I respect the choices they've made.
