But this is a big deal if it's normal. If even one player took the deal in the last decade (I'd bet anything that someone did) that's on par with half of the Reggie Bush stuff.

Even though this helps proves that Brian Rolle was one of the clean players, it also shows many more football players were receiving improper benefits.

I always thought the NCAA was like an NBA wife - they know what is going on behind their backs, but as long as you don't embarrass them - they let you go. But the moment you embarass them by flaunting your cheating - they bring out the hammer and slam you. Who was worse, Tressell or Pryor?
It will be interesting to see how many additional investigations get spun off at T$IO in the future before the NCAA rolls out the punishments to T$IO.
On one hand it pays a lot of tribute to Tressel for instilling the right values in him, helping him to grow and mature, something that for many players, in some aspects, is probably true.
What is hard to not ignore is that he was offered the better deal. Who offered him the better deal, and why? Where they associated with TSIO, a booster, or just cause he was an athlete. He didn't seem to say if others did it.
It does indicate a problem, and if someone offered it to him, you can believe that others were offered and someone took the deal. Why keep offering it (assuming Rolle wasn't the first - and that's probably a fair statement) if no one is biting.
Futhermore, how would something like this not get back to a coach or compliance. In fact, if Mr. Rolle had some impecable morals and integrity like Coach Tressel taught, wouldn't he report it immediately? Why risk someone else being tempted. Accountability and responsibility for your teammates seems like something Tressel would have preached.
I could just be digging, but in the end, this is just another bad sign for the Buckeyes.
I found it funny as well that the morals instilled in him by Tressel led him to decline the car, yet it was the "do as I say not as I do" hypocritical lack of morals that did Tressel in. Had he just followed his own narrative, we wouldnt have a new thread about osu scandals coming out every 5 minutes.
that almost every player is being quoted as saying that Tressel has intilled morals and they trust him still. I understand, having played sports, that the coach and the team become family; That being said, how can they still stand behind Tressle and Pryor.
Also, I dont get how the rest of the team can allow those guys back. I know for sure I wouldnt want them anywhere close to the team, especially driving new shiny cars and being stupid about it.

When the Eagles cut Rolle in September and he's walking in the parking lot with his head down, I hope Brandon Graham spots him, drives an expensive car up and stops, rolls the window down before flashing that huge smile and says "Should have gotten one of these while you had the chance, huh?"
