That may be one of the worst interviewers ever!  Asking questions like "how will you react to Michigan fans saying you suck" and "what if Michigan pulls your offer" to a 16 yr old kid is ridiculous.

This guy must be channeling his inner Drew Sharp.

I wasn't exactly expecting a high standard of journalism since it's MLive but...

There has to be a lot of pressure there if, heaven forbid, you get in a slump. Would you start worrying Michigan might pull your offer?

...what the hell kinda crap is that?

Let's face it, every fan base has its bad seeds and Michigan is no exception. You know it's coming though. You are going to have a bad game, throw more interceptions than touchdowns, and Michigan fans are going to post on message boards 'Shane sucks.' Are you ready to handle that level of criticism, fair or unfair?

Edward R. Murrow, you are not.

For a professional reporter to say to a 16-year-old, "you are going to have a bad game, throw more interceptions than touchdowns, and Michigan fans are going to post on message boards 'Shane sucks,'" doucheness is indicated.

This really comes across like the interviewer is disappointed he chose Michigan.  High school sophomores do not deserve to be peppered with loaded questions.

Which school is being the most persistent keeping in touch with you?

Sparty.

HALOL.

And you are correct.....that interviewer Kyle Warber is a turd.  Reading his questions made my eyes bleed.

About Me:

Kyle Warber. Right now I am your Wolverines blogger, and love covering the maize and blue. On the weekend I like to kick-back with an ice cold Zima while listening to the soulful sounds of Steve Winwood. If you have any tips for me, send me an email

We may have a few tips Kyle....

total douche>>>douche

it's cool, i wasn't dogging you. i meant that "total douche" was too stern. still feel that way. his interview skills are unprofessional, then again i'm assuming he's small-time, so he was probably attempting to be original....like sippin' zimas.

This interview obviously came from the "Drew Sharpe Preparation 101" class in which Shane is currently enrolled.  Looks like he aced the test.

Interviewer:  I suck, and I am going to ask you a bunch of completely stupid, nonsensical questions that are aimed at getting bad answers.

SM:  No problem.  Ask away.  I am going to respond to your stupid questions with perfectly mature answers that make me and Michigan look even better.

If in fact this Kyle Warber character, interviewer extraordinaire, can't find Zima at his local Hiller's, my guess is that he just settles for wine coolers. Good for Shane for not just calling Kyle a dick and hanging up the phone mid interview.

THIS is a leader. Kthx.

Shane Morris: Sure, being flown out to a place like Hawaii or Stanford would have been cool, but that's just not the kind of person I want to be. I am not in it for the perks. Michigan is where I want to be, so there was no need wasting anybodies time.

While I'm glad that we didn't get Pryor in hindsight, I'm pretty sure Hoke would have gone after him as well. Hell, who knows if his career would be different if he had a coach who actually enforced rules.

Once again, my corollary applies.

Are we really going to start attacking former coaches for recruiting people who went on to be fuck-ups in someone ELSE'S program?

The horse is dead, man.  Put the bat down.

i've been reading mgoblog since '09.

i give constructive opinion, and i troll?!?

go read how many useless posts/replies inundate the mgoboard. the revised point system def needs tweaking, and there should be a wunderlink test for the mods.

this should be a forum for intelligent debate. i haven't criticized anyone personally, nor their opinions. i have stated what i believe in contrast to their beliefs. that should be encouraged, not monitored.

shame on you.

I'm not the one marking you as trolling, but the more you complain about getting marked for trolling, the more it's going to happen.  Especially since your comments of late have been more in the "wtf this sucks" vein, rather than observations regarding the topic currently under discussion.

Maybe you missed this in the comment section.  Not that I would blame anyone for skipping the comment section of mlive.

Sometimes it hard to capture the tone of a question. We spent most of the interview joking around and the only reason I asked him a few tough questions was out of respect for Shane ... probably one of he smartest most mature kids I have ever interviewed ... he could handle it and gave great answers.

ryebreadboy

June 2nd, 2011 at 11:35 AM ^

Yeah, he really needs a disclaimer introduction to the interview.  Even so, I don't necessarily think those are "tough" questions.  They're hypothetical situations that are extremely unlikely to happen.  Especially the one about Michigan pulling his scholarship.  That would never happen.  It just seemed like the tone of some of the questions was designed in an attempt to steer him away from UM (the fans are douchey, what if they pull your scholarship, etc), which is the part I really didn't like.

Man, first time I've been on MLive in a while and decided to read the comments on some of the other articles. That place is completely filled with nothing but the lowest common denominator.

So...Reading Mlive is like watching the video in ring? If that's the case then I will stear clear of there.  FWIW, I think that Morris does have a lot of poise under pressure and that is perhaps the best characteristic to have as a QB(See Brady, Tom/ Griese, Brian).

BRBLUE

On one hand its nice to read that Shane has a level head on his shoulders but on the other it seemed like  the questions were written by a high schooler.

if he chooses UM as well, was great to see and very telling about this kid.  That he would still choose to come here even if another 5" QB above him is here as well, speaks volumes about his competitiveness and drive.  Extremely impressed with Shane.

With all the cat themes pics on this site, which I can never get to work, can we find a MORRIS the cat picture and photoshop a UM jersey on him.  Youngsters might not remember Morris the cat from cat food commercials back in the day.  Morris was ONE COOL CAT!
